TA teams were invited to NWCL this last year and all the teams in OR, as long as they register with US Club, will have the same opportunity for this next year.

I'm not bashing OPL or OYSA. Just trying to point out that the extremes are not as bad as some claim them to be.
If that's the case then why don't both leagues play each other?? I don't think your correct otherwise it would be just that simple of a solution.

I don't think even TA knows what the final out come will be but look for the OYSA teams to end up playing the OPL teams again. It will not matter who runs which league just as long as they get to play the full range of competition!
      Your numbers might be off.

At the last 2 practices there 9 and then 15 girls there additionally sniffing around. The same three OPL girls came each night.

There is a demand. There is interest. The numbers are 3 to 1 and 5 to 1 coming from the OYSA so far in my dd's age bracket. Those numbers will increase during the official tryouts.

I would rethink your numbers. But then again it is an anonymous blog.

        3) Some teams in each

Most likely scenario is #3, although in a different manner than we have today. Going forward, the OPL will run the premier league for girls and OYSA will run the premier league for boys. Split along gender lines but who cares? Boys don't play against girls teams anyways.
That solution is waaaaaaay too sensible to ever fly.
Let's have some more soccer drama and league wars.

Even if she does not make it, we are not going back to her Timbers club. It was an absolute nightmare. Nothing that we were told when the split occured actually happened. We did end up paying alot more. On m y daughters team, ther is a few hard core parents that will never leave, but there are probably more that are just fed up and will not be returning. The last straw for my daughter and our circle of friends on her team was this ECNL issue. We were very excited to hear about this, but her coach was not. He did nothing, but bad mouth the clubs, the parents, and even the players. It was completely classless. For what it's worth, and I can only speak with 100% certainty about my daughter, we are leaving the Timbers for good.
We had a very similar experience on our daughters team. She also plays on a timbers team. Our DOC showed up at practice to talk to the girls about ECNL. None of the girls, included most of the parents had ever even met this guy. In the last 2 years, he has never come to a practice, so we figured this must be important. He started talking to the girls about the negative impact of ECNL and after about 10 minutes of non-stop talking, one of the girls asked him what ECNL was. My daughter is only 13. She never even heard of ECNL before. She does play on an A team, but she spends a fair amount of the time on the bench. She probably could not make it onto an ECNL team right now, but she does have potential in the right situation. Of course I am biased. Regardless, it was a very odd situation and made many of us very uncomfortable. We also are looking to move to a different club next year,as this has not been healthy. That last meeting at practice was really the last straw. We also have other parents that are going to be looking for other clubs. Perhaps not ECNL, but I am bringing my daughter to try-out. Maybe she can make a reserve team.

Depending on the age bracket, she might make ECNL. Nothing wrong being in the reserve. They will still get to play OPL and maybe with the OYSA teams if the league reunites. She may get a chance to go to some ECNL tourney's. Everyone that makes ECNL will be able to go to each tourney. Good luck!

NOT everyone that makes ECNL will be able to go to all of the tourneys. Is what I meant to say.
