I am. Keep the leagues separated. I don't want to drive to Bend and Medford.

Oh, so I see…It is about the kids…

        Appreciate the honesty, but geesh.

Don't worry, Marbul was full of bs when he started this. OPL is not moving to OYSA.

So BS free one...who are the OPL teams from U14-18 going to play? They just lost two of the teams they had this year those ages?

Of course when two of the heads of the OPL tell a crowd of 100+ that they are in active discussions with OYSA working out a new league format you just assume they are lying eh?

That's the OPL fall league / OYSA spring league scenario. No competition but everyone gets a piece of the "pie"

? what? They actually are losing three (THUSC CROSSFIRE FCPDX) which is an entire division so why does that matter? Those teams only competed with each other. I do not get how that changes anything

Those top teams don't go away, they just become a few players weaker as the very best players move to ECNL, along with the best players from the other clubs around Oregon.

No, you assume this means OPL is folding up and all teams are going to OYSA. I can assure you that is not going to happen. It will be a Spring league / Fall league solution. And you keep assuming that entire teams are going to be lost, they are open try outs!! The teams will be comprised of the best players from all over Oregon. The ECNL clubs are not going to lose people, they will actually gain people. Just wait, THUSC will add MORE teams for OPL next year.

Yes 100+ people heard it and a couple people are on here thinking that means OPL is going away and everyone is joining OYSA. Marbul is hearing what he wants to hear, but it aint so. Enough said.

                        Even without the ECNL

Even without the ECNL taking 180 players out of the OPL there were demands to expand the competition. This Spring's experience of playing your own B & C teams and 71's vs. 18's was not a satisfactory situation for the money that was being spent.

I don't think even TA knows what the final out come will be but look for the OYSA teams to end up playing the OPL teams again. It will not matter who runs which league just as long as they get to play the full range of competition!

Love your numbers, why do you think players from OYSA aren't going to ECNL also?? Not good enough??? Loyalty to Timbers??? Your crazy if you don't think that the players that make up ECNL will be a 50/50 split. As far as Spring league goes, I believe OYSA was a fine mess. We will see after try outs, but from what I'm guessing is OPL will see alot more girls trying out for those clubs (regardless of ECNL) and OYSA will be the ones not looking good on the girls side.

ECNL & NWCL are US Soccer, do you think they are going to abandon NWCL to move their teams over to OYSA??? Your crazy. OPL is going nowhere. If there is any kind of joining of competition with the two leagues it will be both leagues competing against each other. OYSA is wrong on this one as usual.

I tend to agree with this post. My daughter plays for a current Timbers team. I will not say which one, because it is too early. She is gong to ECNL try-outs. Even if she does not make it, we are not going back to her Timbers club. It was an absolute nightmare. Nothing that we were told when the split occured actually happened. We did end up paying alot more. On m y daughters team, ther is a few hard core parents that will never leave, but there are probably more that are just fed up and will not be returning. The last straw for my daughter and our circle of friends on her team was this ECNL issue. We were very excited to hear about this, but her coach was not. He did nothing, but bad mouth the clubs, the parents, and even the players. It was completely classless. For what it's worth, and I can only speak with 100% certainty about my daughter, we are leaving the Timbers for good.

You don't have to leave NWCL or US Club to with OYSA.

You just miss out on the NPL Championships, which most teams decline their invitation every year.

TA teams were invited to NWCL this last year and all the teams in OR, as long as they register with US Club, will have the same opportunity for this next year.

I'm not bashing OPL or OYSA. Just trying to point out that the extremes are not as bad as some claim them to be.
