Yep, relegating the US Youth National League to "C" status, FWRL to "D" status and OYSA Timbers league to "Rec" status.

Only if Sub-Rec is higher in the food chain than the OYSA Timbers league.

Oregon ECNL will be relegated to ECNL minor league, along with FC Nova. They will play in secondary events with the hope of promotion to the real ECNL. The first three years, they are going to keep the training wheels on in hopes that the entire thing doesn't crash.

Even if such a claim contained even a shred of reality, Oregon ECNL would still be significantly better than anything the Timbers / Thorns / TA could ever put together. Thorns Academy is a "one and done" deal. They'll try it this year, it will fail miserably, and you'll never hear of it again. One team, one season, one big failure.

I sure hope you aren't an FC parent because you should be looking in the mirror at your ECNL program. CU has a shred of a chance to be successful, but with the egos of the people running it, I think it will be more chaotic than controlled. The numbers at FC are terrible. The numbers at CU are better, but that doesn't necessarily mean success. That just means more girls sitting the bench and paying fees.

What are these numbers you speak of? I haven't seen anything from FCP or CU other then U14 at CU which were awful. Something like 14 girls only showed up.

I've heard about the numbers for both tryouts. But lets have someone who was there regale us with the actual counts. We want to hear how broadly attended these tryouts have been from someone who was there. Let's hear it people. It's been pretty quiet, so the numbers must not be that good.

They probably don't frequent these boards. Most people with older aged kids stay away from this place. They already know enough to not come on here scrounging for information and don't care what people say.

Doesn't really matter anyway. Apparently neither you or I have dd's that went to any of the tryouts, so it couldn't really be that important to us. Most of the Oregon soccer world, this doesn't really apply to either. It's for girls only. About 90% of the girls in Oregon don't even play on Premier or higher level teams and would not even be remotely qualified to attempt playing. Then you have the OYSA / OPL split, etc. These ECNL / academy discussions on here are a little silly considering we are only talking about the top 30 or 40 girls in each age group from U14 and up at a maximum

At HS ages there were 142 girls at CU tryouts

CU ECNL still has two more days of tryouts scheduled in July.
Some parents I know wanted to see the initial interest before committing.

Evenly split, that's about 35 per age group - not bad.
