Which just goes to show that the same old unethical behavior is still the norm at WT-FC. Nothing ever changes.

There was nothing unethical. They had been talking for a long time about bringing that team over. They didn't get a special deal or anything, they are still paying the same amount as the other Tier 2 teams. In the end if they didn't come over the club would have an A and B team in tier 2, and now they have two A teams and a B team in tier 2. For the kids in the club its a positive that there is a bigger group of talented players to train and play against on a regular basis. So the only ones that seem to really care about this are those who are disgruntled and want to find some reason to be upset with the club.

The unethical part is that they waited until after tryouts to move to WT_FC. They should have done the move completely above board and had all of the kids simply go to WT_FC tryouts and be placed on the various teams as appropriate. They didn't do that because they knew that the team would be broken up if they did - not all of the players are "A" players. So they waited - and moved under cover of darkness...

Not to mention that this shows how desperate the WT_FC leadership is to show any signs of growth - even if it means compromising their own values to do so.

Its amazing so many people are making such a big deal about a team moving over. Pacific signed off on it (they had to for the coaches to continue to coach). They came over so they could play in the RCL in washington which they couldn't have done in pacific.

In the end they made a choice which will benefit their kids. It has zero impact on anyone on this board, unless you actually play on one of these teams. yet there are people that are trying to make this seem like some huge ethical issue.

Its better for the pacific players, now that they can play at a higher level. Its better for the previous red players, since they can practice and compete with the pacific players on a regular basis. And now when the entire age group moves to 11 a side next year (pacific is already playing 11 a side in washington this year) it gives an entire year to get a feel for what movement needs to happen at next years tryouts.

Give me a break. There is no club in the world that would turn away a group of talented players that wants to come over. Duh. All this shows is that things are changing for the better at wa timbers. Why else would talented players want to switch unless it is better for them? Duh. Duh. Sour grapes

Because the WSYSA doesn't recognize Pacific as a club. Hence, it's NOT a club.

Like Pinocchio, it wants to be real, but it just isn't.

I'm not sure why anyone cares. Everybody chooses what they think is best for their kid. No one can define what is best for anyone else's kids. All of this posturing and name calling is ridiculous. None of these girls will play in the World Cup. Let the girls be happy. Support each other. It's not hard.

I disagree. At least 4 of these girls will play in World Cup. You are not paying attention.

Sure they're going to play in the RCL. WT_FC isn't even allowed to place teams in the RCL until U14, and then only in the bottom division. They're not even a full member club anymore.

WYS recognizes Pacific FC as a "select" club in their language. WT_FC is the "regional" club, but only an associate member at that. They lost their voting rights and ability to place teams below U14 over a year ago.

You don't turn away the players. But you merge them with the rest of the group, not leave them as some standalone "special" team. That will only make it more difficult to merge them next year, assuming there is a next year.
