Most states don't have players on that list. If it makes you feel better, Steven Evans would have been a senior had he not gone into the MLS. He most likely would have made the list. Most of the guys on that list won't make into the MLS either. It doesn't say anything negative about them.

I was watching Bayern Munich a couple days ago and there was not one single player from Oregon on that team. Huh. Says a lot about the quality of soccer in Oregon.
I was on the phone the whole time with an international operator trying to get a comment for this post from the Bayern general manager, but at press time he had not returned my phone call.
It's just sad. Why even bother? Seriously. What's the point? I'm pulling my daughter from her club effective immediately and moving to a serious soccer country that won't let me down. Or maybe we'll just do ballet. I haven't decided.

Glad you asked

ESU's Evans is still under contract for year #2 but without a prayer of seeing action with Porter as Coach. He was the Timbers 2nd Homegrown player.
It apprears the Homegrown effort for the Timbers is not quite ready to work in the MLS yet. Give it time.

Twisted motives
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostCalling Richards and Evans homegrown players is technically correct but still a bit of stretch since both of them were out of youth soccer before the MLS version of the Timbers existed. Evans is a poor fit with Porter's style of play. He's good enough to play in the league in the right environment.
