Hey heart!

Advice: eat more ham. Drink more juice. Run more and cater to your CUSTOMERS needs and you will never go wrong. Do that or go write a bad novel, both are honorable.
Your entitled to your opinion and your choices . . . if folks have a financial stake in the outcome though, some disclosure makes sense.

In terms of more competition is better than less; well I am a capitalist not an absolutists, and have seen a lot of waste when non-profit leagues fight to the death. You would be surprised how long those fights can go on. Some innovation comes, lots of waste does do to, including threads devoted entirely to speculation as to who on the other side of the fence is going to fold, lose their job, and folks demanding others rationalize their choices.

Ham and juice is good (especially with a little something, something in it).

So being a Capitalist and all what will you say if the OYSA ends up with twice as many teams as the OPL?

        That they would be winning.

Unless it's twice as much garbage.

Concern yourself with quality, not quantity. ***C has 3500+ kids and can only manage to field 1 or 2 top quality teams.

I am not the original poster and don't have a dog in this fight, but it is remarkable how this could be a U8 boys thread and you all would show up here eventually.
I am the original poster. I posted about my daughter not wanting to try out for Onyx. I didn't post it to get a rise out of Onyx parents, but look at their ears perk up!! THPRD rec programs are not necessary for a player who was instrumental in helping her team prove that Onyx DOES have competition in OR. She has had enough contact with them in the past to convince her that their style of play is not for her. She works her *ss off to help keep her team right up there with Onyx...at least until her former coach messed up the team's chances to stay there. And now we are traveling two different paths, so we won't have a chance for any rematches.. Ya, she works as hard, if not harder, than any Onyx player...don't even go that direction! Not everyone who works hard to be the best wants to be an Onyx player.

It is hard work chasing down all those bootballs, isn't it?

And the icing on the cake is that you don't have to hang out with those arsehole parents, a win win in my book.

The guy who wrote the post about his daughter being all that but not wanting to be on Onyx was pretty full of himself also. Sounds like he would get along great with the Onyx parents. Would probably be a win win for everyone if he went to Onyx.

Every thread on this forum comes back to Onyx...

Yeah, except that quantity is what keeps clubs afloat. If you lose most of your B and C teams but keep all of your A teams you won't survive.

I didn't consider that. You might be right.

Especially if you have 4 full-time paid DoCs. They gotta eat ham and drink juice, man!
