Do the numbers. There have been multiple posts in the various OYSA/OPL threads that PROVE the OYSA will have enough players TODAY to form and sustain competitive leagues for girls and boys. The same CANNOT be said of the OPL. The OYSA has MORE clubs, MORE teams and MORE players from which to derive revenue.

A year from now we will know concretely what the costs to the OPL outsiders will be but it's not rocket science to see that there will be a big negative effect on the boys side of the ledger.

You need to stop bitching about the TA and focus on SAVIN
G your club before it's too late. Inaction is a luxury you don't have!
Wow, you have problems. I am guessing that you live in Medford, Eugene, or Bend. First off, get over yourself. I understand that you were all upset when the majority of the talent in the State (Portland/Metor) decided that they really didn't want to pay for the gas to drive all the way down to your one pony town and woop on your kids team. That reality isn't going to go away. You may enjoy one season, but after that it's all over for you and your precious TA. You will be a Rec + league in short notice. It doesn't matter that you have more teams in your league, especially when the realization comes to your neck of the woods that you don't have the talent. Your posts suggest that you are pretty new to this club soccer thing. I don't knock you for trying, but please quit with the "Your clubs need to figure it now" crying. We don't need to do anything to appease you. Your talent is low, and it will always be. Portland/Metro is where the talent is and it's not going anywhere. You can do your stupid list of how many teams are going to be on your side but in the end its still a bunch of stick woods teams spread all over the place and no one wants to spend the gas money to go all the way down to your hick woods town and woop on your kids team. Have fun in the short run but in the long run you will be in a rec plus league.

PYSA joined OYSA as a single-member (meaning instead of admitting each club individually they just admitted PYSA as a member) if I read OYSA minutes correctly.

I don't know if that means NEU is joining OYSA's classic league, but maybe the poster above has more info.

First you are wrong three times about who I am and where I live. I'm a metro area parent who used to be in an OPL club. I have also been a regular poster here for 4 years. So you are zero for three and I haven't even got to the qualitative analysis of your claims.

Since you can't read the posts above I will summarize the quality issue posted above. The majority of top teams in the younger ages are going to be in the OYSA. The older kids are going to be evenly split on the girls side but on the boys side more are going to be in the OYSA. TWO more wrong claims.

Lastly your claim that in a few years things are going to be bad for OYSA when you are ignoring that in a few years the better girl teams in the OPL will have aged out is AGAIN more proof you are living in a fantasy world.

So to summarize not a single claim you made in the post above is correct or can be supported by EVIDENCE. But hey keep smoking the OPC crack...

Have you thought of registering and calling yourself "The spin doctor"? That's about all you can do at this point. FYI, Westside and Eastside come from the Portland Metro area.

Yeah, they do and you will be in continuous decline talent wise from here on out. OPL will be a much more attractive package. You can sit here and type all you want, it won't change reality. Economics will always win out.

Why does this person go from thread to thread and put down the outside of metro people and TA clubx? I wish you would attempt to add value to a thread versus just put people down. I am pretty new to this club soccer (before you can put me down for that) thing but I can also weed through the facts pretty quickly and make a decision that I feel is best for my kids. Yes, my kid plays for a TA team. We don't play there because of it being part of the TA but started there last year out of convenience and it being reasonably priced (versus a couple of other non TA clubs I looked at). He is an average Premier player playing on a solid team currently. Thankfully, our talent isn't as low as you would like to believe and I feel he is getting the challenge he needs to become a better player...in practice and in games. I don't care if he plays NP or not and am only concerned that he has an opportunity to grow as a player. So far, our program is offering that and hope it continues to in the future (go ahead and reply back that it won't).

Not sure what you and others are trying to accomplish by either putting down TA programs or non Portland programs but all it does is expose insecurities as well as help others confirm why they are choosing where they want their children to play (TA or non TA). Looking at the clubs already committed moving over to OYSA I am comfortable with the level of competition my kid will see in spring and moving forward. I can say that without putting others down along the way and hope you can find a way to do the same. Good luck in future seasons - maybe we will see you again in the coming years.

If you ignore the desperate spin doctor he might just go away. Nah, I doubt it, I think he's jobless.

OYSA teams will not have to travel as far to quality competition so I'm not sure what you mean when you say economics will win out. FWRL is more expensive than OYSA league!

Tell me why top boys would want to play for OPL clubs?

Is OYSA going to split their league? Eugene, Medford, Bend, etc. are they going to be in their own league or the TA just won't travel there?

From what we were told is that only the top premier level teams will travel to the far reaches of the state. the rest will play regionally

                              New poster...

My kid will play in the OPL where her team plays. I do not see any reason for panic as the league games are just not that important to us. Hopefully our coach has bigger fish to fry. I do not bad mouth either side. I just do not care that much. However, the irony of this post is, did you see the name of this thread? The venom towards the clubs sticking with the OPL has been far worse than what the TA has taken on this forum. IN fact, I would go so far as to say that there are people assigned to do this stuff as there is so much of it. Including the name of this thread, which is designed to scare people and make them think their clubs are going under. Is that ethical? They were all friends when they ALL originally moved from OYSA.

I see what you mean, but I would disaggree a bit. I think over the last few months the negativity towards both sides has been about equal. I have seen posts like crazy bashing timbers, oysa, gavin himself, as well as plenty bashing OPL. Its like a miniature version of the us politics right now, both sides bashing each other but both sides wrong
