Not if your an ONYX parent. It's their right to spout off about anything soccer related, since they are the very best team ever.

I don't know if it was posted by an ONYX parent or a SSC parent, but it's laughable to think that some "rivalry" at the U15 age level will be a big part of this game. Whomever posted that should move to the back, shut up, and go get programs and coffee for the rest of the parents and pray that their team gets enough of a lead to allow their little freshman player to get 5 minutes on the field.

Agreed! Should be a good game. I didn't think Sunset looked very good vs Westview. Lots of balls in the air and clearing out of the back. Neither team really ever had possession. I didn't see the Tualatin game but hopefully both teams try to play pretty soccer in the final.

Sunset was fortunate to have good refs calling the game so that the phantom handballs and flops in the box weren't called.

It's not a rivalry game, but Sunset does play a lot of freshman from the start.

Of course the losing teams are only going to point out the calls that favored WV. But let's be honest, there were also goal scoring calls that went against WV on this run.

Against WL you cannot debate the second PK, a trip from behind. The first call was debatable, but if you are going to waive that one then surely you agree the foul that led to WL's only goal should not have been called, 'cuz it was as ticky tack as they come. So one goal given to *each* team by the refs.

WV did benefit from the handball in the box call against West Salem. But for argument's sake, let's say that refs should swallow the whistle for lightweight infractions in the box. Then again, you must certainly agree that WV's previous score (a beautifully executed corner kick/header) should not have been disallowed. I didn't actually see the foul as I was watching the ball. But I didn't see anyone on the ground either, so it couldn't have been too aggregious. So there you have it, the refs gave WV one goal, and took one away -- even steven.

Great defensive struggle with Sunset, won with a terrific goal. Best of luck to them in the finals!

If it makes you feel better you were truly out played by WL and second half of Tigard game first half was horrible by both teams and I can imagine sunset outplayed you last night! You played solid defense to move on each round but that is about the only strenght you guys have. Your coach was super surprised you guys got out of the first round. But congrats for making it as far as you did.

Seems WV was able to fend off Tigard without a PK.

Congrats to WV buuuut

Congrats to WV for beating the paper Tigers and taking Sunset to the limit but you need a little perspective on the WL game. You got the majority of the calls the entire game until the WL assistant coach got the Yellow. Funny thing right after that card WL got the call you were getting the entire game. The direct kick from that foul almost went in and did hit the bottom of the cross bar and was cleaned up for the goal.

The last gift from the referee's was off a WL corner in the final 2 minutes that went off the top of the cross bar and was controlled on the far side by a WL player who was preparing to cross into the box when the AR ruled the ball out, though clearly the TOP OF THE BAR is not out. To be sure there is not way to say they would have scored but that call was made by the same AR who blew an off sides earlier call that DID TAKE A BALL OUT OF THE NET.

Yes WL's top scorer did have a chance to tie the game in the last 5 minutes but the shot was high so unlike WV the lions did have shots on goal in the flow of the game and simply didn't get the job done. But for any WV supporter to come here and say that they clearly were the better team when they didn't control the game or get off more than one header and one weak shot to the goalie is bogus.

You were LUCKY and had the benefit of the calls and should just admit the truth. You did make the best of that win and should be proud of the next two efforts but seriously admit you were LUCKY to beat the Lions.

Yup. That and a lot of bad officiating. HS soccer, great in so many ways, lousy in so many other ways.

so lucky if you win and bad refs if you loose. many of these are the same refs that officiate the OYSA and OPL games....yet I never such strong critisim about those games.
