Couldn't make the game but I heard there was an own goal? That would mean JHS would have only won 1-0 without it. Also I saw Tigard beat Grant 5-4. Looks like Tigard is for real and maybe JHS is starting to cool down? They tie GHS, beat SHS 1-0 in the last 20 sec and then GHs gets 5 scored on them. Interesting season this year.

No own goal. Jesuit dominated the first part of the half but couldn't score. Westview had a chance or two of their own against the run of play. Westview hung in there and deservedly went into the second half with everything to play for.

The second half had Westview throwing everything they could at Jesuit (4 or 5 corners, and ht the goal post at least once) but they couldn't get one to go in.

Eventually Jesuit was able to knock in a couple late in the second half. Credit goes to Westview for a heck of an effort. Jesuit hasn't been able to put teams away this year and eventually (playoffs) that may be their downfall. That said they haven't given up a goal yet.

I watched the match from the top of the bleachers and had a good view of the first goal. I didn't see it as an "own" goal, but as a regular goal. By the way, the announcer said it was a goal only after the center referee gave two signals that it was a goal. Announcers don't differentiate between types of goals, ever, unless they are very inexperienced. What's your beef with an announcer indicating what a center referee has declared? Rather silly.
