Shame on the Timber's Alliance for bullying OPL ("We won't play with you if we don't get our way.") When it comes down to it, this is bad for their teams, and the rest of the teams. Unified competition is the best bet. In 2-3 years this will work itself out, but in the meantime our children suffer when 2-3 of their 8 competitive soccer years are screwed up.

I hope the OPL doesn't cave into the pressure of bullies. Stay strong -- the Timber's player will get tired of playing all Red teams and the players will move back.

As far as the travel piece goes that was for U14 AND BELOW in league play. The truth is no body wants to travel to medford to play a bad team when they can stay home and play a better team. It was hard to even fill rosters to go to Medford. In addition, most people thought it was pretty dumb to drag your 10 year old out of bed to get to a game in Medford at noon. The OPC agreed.

The demand from Premier teams at U15 and above is NOT to focus on league play but to focus on college exposure and higher levels of play. This requires trips North and South. By this age kids should be capable of traveling without Mommy and Daddy. (If a player does not want to travel they do not have to.) Despite what people say our teams fair well in both areas. Variety makes players better.

I welcome travel for friendlies or an extra tournament. I do not care if we play Copa teams ever again. This is not a knock on them as, my guess is strong well supported Copa teams do not care if they play an OPL team again either.

So what now? Who do you think will end up traveling to Medford?

None of the clubs in Oregon on the girls side are good enough to play ECNL. The odd team here and there is not efficient enough to join ECNL.

My daughters team has beaten ECNL teams. Nice try.

Never let there be a moment for the Onyx parents to get in and pat their little sweethearts on the back and tell them how much they love them. TA is so proud that his minions monitor this board 24/7 so that they can be sure to tout the club and team. And they wonder why no one sits with them at functions.

It will be business as usual for the girl's side and be a little screwed up on the boys side because OSAA, FC Portland, Westside, and Eastside are all strong.

Not much is loss with the Timbers Clubs leaving. D1 will be weaker.

Yet another idiot bashing Onyx. You brought them up. No one else did.

FYI.... it isn't just Onyx beating ECNL teams. The problem is that you people are simply too ignorant or dishonest to admit it.

Um. This response makes no sense to my post.Of course I am a parent of a child on the team, I SAID I was.

My kid is not on Onyx, she is too old, but like my daughters team I am sure they have beat ECNL teams. Many teams in Oregon have beaten ECNL teams. You can put Oregon soccer down all you want, but the truth is many teams do well outside of Oregon, lots of kids go play soccer at various levels of colleges inside and outside of Oregon. The facts are easy to find. You just need to make the very best of what you have.

Other teams besides Onyx have beaten ECNL teams. You need to learn more about other teams instead of just focusing all your attention on one team.

I have been reading these threads for years and I can rarely think of a time that these Onyx parents that you loath "hijack" a thread. In my opinion it is people like you who mention them, complain about them or rip them and they come on to defend themselves which I don't blame them for.

If you hadn't have mentioned them here, they wouldn't even be in this thread. My guess is that people like you enjoy ripping them and know that if you mention them it will provide you the opportunity.

                              Give it a break.
