We could just keep playing our lil statewide advanced rec league (since the majority of the teams playing in the OPL leagues are just that) and call ourselves winners and give every kid a trophy.

The natural question is why the GM of an MLS Soccer team would have any interest or influence in what leagues or bodies govern quasi competitive and recreational youth soccer in Oregon/SW Washington?

Do you smell that....it's the fresh smell of $$$$$ from the unsuspecting and unknowing youth membership. Kick backs and control...Sound like something GW would desire??

It's not ego (even though it's a consideration) it's not the quality of leagues or their infrastructure (youth soccer at the state level has been marginalized with the USSDA & ECNL over the past 5 years) Regardless of what acronym or end game is offered it's all the poor step child to the elite level of competition no longer available to 99% of Oregonians.

None of this makes sense. Go to OPL, then go back to OYSA....what's next?

Folks when something makes no sense on the surface you must look behind the scenes and figure out what's actually driving this chaos.

oysa is a cesspool of stupidity...why would anyone want to be part of it? If you want to go to regionals just enter the oysa state tournament and go, nothing stopping you if you want that great "competition".

You don't need to go to Region IV, just go at each State's Championship Cup and you will see all/most of the top teams not participating.

Who cares how it happens, only that it does. OYSA offered give the OPL just about everything before and they turned it down. Now that the Timbers are breaking ranks, Im sure the rest of the founding OPL clubs will consider the move as well.

US Club is the future. Not USYSA. That is why you don't see top tournaments in Region IV regionals are what they are.

And so am I to assume you have done this? The last time I checked the age group we will compete with at regionals, form the states we will compete with at regionals there are many of the top teams competing.

Don't start worrying about reality though...OPL doesn't do it, Fox news doesn't do it... Just throw out what you want, and maybe if enough people read it it will become reality...as if by magic

Your probably the team manager arent you ? and Im sure your lil kiddos team didnt do so well and are just butt hurt over the fact that you could have played in the OYSA league and done quite well, but because you didnt, and you got waxed in the process, now it's all OYSA's fault your kids team a looser.
