    Divided we maybe again ??

Rumor has it the Timbers Alliance's either have or are going to rejoin with OYSA. If this should happen, I would assume that all of their teams would be playing in their (OYSA) league. Other then the OPL, that leaves only PYSA to follow and were all back under one tent once again.

What does this do for the OPL ? Wasn't GW one of the founding members of the OPC ? Now he's undermining his own rebellious group and jumping ship ? You gotta know his direction is to follow the biggest pot of gold.

Hopefully this will happen. OPL state cup is meaningless. Region IV regionals is where the competition is.

        Ha !

This would be funny but a good move. OPL is just OYSA with no purpose.

Oh !!! They have a purpose, it's all about the money. They dont care whether any team goes anywhere they arent making money from it.

I think you maybe mis interpreting what will probably happen. If it goes this way then I would put money that basically the OPL and OYSA would be joining together. OYSA has come to OPL the last few years to try and get them to merge back in. This would just tell me they are finally reaching some agreements with the reasons why the OPL broke away to begin with.

It's meaningless, cause the OPL doesnt support it. As much as we hated OYSA for telling us what we have to do, it was these rules that if you win state cup you HAD to go to regional's, otherwise suffer a financial penalty. It created contenders that took the process seriously and teams looked at the state cup as means to go elsewhere and play others like them, a place where nobody else could go (with some exceptions) and it was honorable to represent your state in that competition. I for one would like to get back to that spirit again. Maybe this is the start.

Who cares how it happens, only that it does. OYSA offered give the OPL just about everything before and they turned it down. Now that the Timbers are breaking ranks, Im sure the rest of the founding OPL clubs will consider the move as well.

Wouldn't that pretty much kill the OPL? Your talking about Vancouver, WST, Eastside, Bend and Medford? That's probably 50% of the premier teams at most age groups. I could see others like EMFC and CFC following if that happens also.

Look at it positively, otherwise your kid maybe on the outside looking in at all the good things they are missing.

The Timbers have several clubs that have expressed interests in becoming an alliance club. Dont think there are just 5.

If the majority of the top teams all played in an OYSA sanctioned league, it doesnt mean that the rest couldnt play in the OPL league. Only then, the OPL games would become the "bush" league in this state. Best thing that could happen is they all fall under one roof and create some unity and strength in numbers

One things for sure. All the teams that have been competing in the OYSA leagues are going to have a wide eyed awakening when the likes of the top OPL teams show up on a weekly basis.

Are you serious? None of the top teams in WA play? FC Nova, top team in ID isn't playing. How about CA - most of the top CA teams don't play anymore

You and your kid should just stay right where your at. Dont move, dont budge, shake your firsts in air and stomp your feet real loud. I can see from here it's working really well.

                              Points to consider:

                              * We dont have an ECNL club (yet)
                              * We cant seem to win in the NWCL, why worry about playing the best teams from WA
                              * We did well in FWRL
                              * WCDA is now adding girls.

I think that moving back to a program or direction that leads our teams to better play is a good thing......

                              or

We could just keep playing our lil statewide advanced rec league (since the majority of the teams playing in the OPL leagues are just that) and call ourselves winners and give every kid a trophy.
