ODP Regional Camp is not USYNT "Regional Pool". An even further cry from USYNT roster. OR rarely gets one in the USYNT pool, and almost never on a roster. Last year ODP had 110 at regional camp in OR, with most CA & WA not even participating. Being selected for the 18 member ODP regional team is a true accomplishment (despite being severely watered down now on girls side) and most age groups have zero from Oregon every year. ODP likes to tell hoards of kids they are "elite" to make money and keep the parents & players hooked on soccer.

Three girls from Oregon made the 18 roster ODP regional team for their respective ages. A 99 CU player, an 02 CU player, and the 02 superstar who has team hopped from FC PDX ECNL to CFC to now Thorns Academy. Pretty good showing for Oregon I think.

How many girls at any age does Oregon get onto actual US National teams (youth or adult) official rosters? One every 5 years? 10 yrs? 20yrs? No Oregon players even got drafted in the last women's professional league draft. With the popularity of soccer here, shouldn't we be doing better?

Not any more. Been left behind by at least half a dozen that are MUCH better. Probably because they were properly developed and not just used as a racehorse in the kick & chase CFC bootball system.

Wst copa ts 2002 looked good at clash. If their 03 team were any indicator last year, they are probably better than all the clubs.

Family has burned bridges at both ECNL clubs and now CFC. Always interesting when that happens over and over and somehow it's always the club's fault. But she will be a star playing on age in the Beaverton cup against the CFC C team. And I'm sure mommy and daddy dearest will love it.
