Happened last year with G01. FCP didn't play fall OYSA and were seeded last and grouped with the team that won fall league. It's OYSAs way of coercing teams into playing the fall league. It has to be worth something. At least in OPL league winners went to NPL Finals.

The point is that it ends up punishing the team that did play OYSA and win the league. Now they have to play a top team off the bat when seeding is set up to give the league winner the truly last ranked team, NOT a top team that didn't play in the league. Perhaps put a highly ranked team in the bracket with the lowest ranked one from fall (if 4 brackets, then with the 4th ranked team from fall)? Seeding should take into account true rankings as it is intended to. If OYSA wants to do simple seeding from fall and put zero more effort into it, then just make the rule be that you must play in fall in order to play State Cup. If not, include other league results.

In the particular case of TT, they should have been in Gold (as a top seed) in the Fall. They did play in OYSA but were simply being punished by the DOCS. I don't have a dog in the race, but find it lazy and unfair to seed solely based on fall, considering all these other issues.

I hope TT and FCSC G00 now upset the #1 OYSA seeds in bracket play & win their respective State Cups. It's the #1 seed from Fall that should be complaining. Having to play a super tough competitor is much tougher than playing the worst team in the league, maybe losing players to fatigue/injury. If OYSA isn't going to seed teams fairly, then why don't they just do a blind draw for brackets?

Soccer is a strange game, your team can dominate every statistic except goals scored and not win. Just because the score line shows one team winning there are cases where the best team on the field didn't win that day. That said, if I had my choice I would rather play FC than TT or TS any day, our odds are better at beating them, they pretty much have gotten lucky 2-3 times we've played in the last year. And the 3rd time, like PP said, every team has an off day.

Yep, losing is always the other team getting "lucky". Wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard that one.

Good points but it's Timbers and OYSA. They have no competition to make them better so you get minimum effort at maximum cost.

Exactly. Single games don't matter, especially in spring league when there is a lot of roster shuffling at a club like FC with so many players. Look at the long term success, that's a much better indicator.

Let's get the parents to lace up the cleats and let the parents settle the game on the pitch. The kids can line the sidelines and micromanage everything that happens loudly.

Then if they tie, instead of penalties, it can be a warrior-style brawl. Last person standing wins.

Spring is for developing. Many top athletes are playing other sports, girls that don't normally play premier or ride the pine more then not, get time in the saddle.

That way, if Susie Sorta Star gets injured, decides to focus on basketball, etc. Peggy Pine steps in and the team doesn't miss a beat.

If your clubs is running balls to the wall in spring and think it means something be leery long term. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Why even bother with the game. Just to the brawl part. The parents enter the ring/field with nothing but a unitard and a razor sharp knife. Put a chain link fence around the field. Just let them go at it.

In a head to head real game, no way does TT beat FCP. Tough draw for TT. Bright side is they are a lock to win it in 2017.
