    State Cup Seeding

That makes things more interesting then. Not sure how they figure FWRL results into the seeding equation. Also, NEU and FCP Navy may not make the top 16 cut if the two teams finishing above them in fall but not playing in spring opt to play State Cup.

Here's what the State Cup rules pdf on the OYSA website has to say:

Not entirely clear what a "qualifying league" is...could certainly include the 3 leagues you mention above.

Last year we had a boys State Cup with 20 teams. OYSA did 5 groups of 4 teams, with winner of each group plus 3 wild cards advancing to quarters. They'll take any team that signs up and figure a bracket set up to make it work.

If you signed up for state cup AND wanted to play spring league you had to play the early (premier) league so you'd be finished in time for state cup. But you don't have to play spring league. Some Vancouver teams played OYSA spring but are doing WA state cup. Qualifying leagues include OYSA fall, spring, FWRL, RCL, USYS National League. You just have to participate in one of them to qualify. Seeding, however, goes by OYSA fall results. Teams that didn't play the fall league are seeded at the bottom

A good example here is Salmon Creek G00. The only leagues they played in were FWRL and USYS National League but they are signed up for OYSA state cup, which they will win so they can go to Regionals again.

That should be changed. Dumb way to do it. I went over a couple different age groups and the #1 seeds were basically directly from fall league but the middle & bottom ranked teams had some wiggle room. If a team didn't play fall but did play spring they should give at least a little weight to that. Otherwise, teams like FCSC G01 get seeded last and put in the same bracket with the #1 team from fall, possibly knocking them out. The #1 seed is supposed to have "earned" a game vs the very worst team (not maybe a #1 seed type team that just didn't happen to play Fall league. Makes zero sense.

Happened last year with G01. FCP didn't play fall OYSA and were seeded last and grouped with the team that won fall league. It's OYSAs way of coercing teams into playing the fall league. It has to be worth something. At least in OPL league winners went to NPL Finals.

                  1,8,9,16
                  2,7,10,15
                  3,6,11,14
                  4,5,12,13

Given this, FCP, RVT, TT makes perfect sense. If there are 16 teams entered, the 16th is probably FCP Navy so it also makes sense that they wouldn't be grouped with FCP pre-ECNL.
None of this matters, FCP will win it all.

I think maybe TS can beat FCP.

Probably. TT did. CFC almost did. So did Bend.

Yes even the best teams can have off days. TT wont beat FCP again. And almost doesnt count in soccer.

Ok, if you say so, it must be true.

We are settling all of this with a one off game of horse shoes.

Let's get the parents to lace up the cleats and let the parents settle the game on the pitch. The kids can line the sidelines and micromanage everything that happens loudly.

Then if they tie, instead of penalties, it can be a warrior-style brawl. Last person standing wins.

Soccer is a strange game, your team can dominate every statistic except goals scored and not win. Just because the score line shows one team winning there are cases where the best team on the field didn't win that day. That said, if I had my choice I would rather play FC than TT or TS any day, our odds are better at beating them, they pretty much have gotten lucky 2-3 times we've played in the last year. And the 3rd time, like PP said, every team has an off day.
