FC was doing their part trying to get Bend and RVT relegated so nobody has to drive there next year.

I thought I was the only one who thought about possible motives like that. Won't matter tho, Timbers Alliance teams get in Gold simply because of TA patch. They only don't play Gold when they request to play down for wins like Eugene did. They finished 4th in Silver but all they can play in Gold any time they want. TT on the other hand...

I think that just showing that everyone is all pretty much the same talent wise and they are all great teams.

Yes, Copa beat TT. TT also tied Wash Timbers and beat CFC 5-0 in FWRL.
So I'll comment on TT. With 89 goals for and 2 against in OYSA Silver, if they arent moved up its a joke. Without a doubt, TT is one of the best G02 teams in the state.

No argument there but as for the 89 goals you have to remember the competition level they were playing.

So I'll comment on TT. With 89 goals for and 2 against in OYSA Silver, if they arent moved up its a joke. Without a doubt, TT is one of the best G02 teams in the state.

I predict TA patch wearing Eugene makes it into Gold over TT. Sorry, powers that be don't want TT in Gold beating most of their precious TA & big club teams. Give a spot to a TA mid-pack Silver team and all the gold teams get an easy win. & the TA club can claim they are "Premier". Soccer in OR isn't about the kids.

Thats the whole point. Its not right for the Silver teams to have to play this team. TT wont have numbers like this in Gold, but based on last year, Summer tourneys and FWRL, only petty politics keep them out of Gold.

Agreed, but what a great experiment! Now we know exactly how thin the talent pool really is and how much disparity there is between the top handful of teams and all the rest. Had no idea it was that big a gap!!!!!!

If I remember correctly, Spring season isn't result based and any team wanting to play in the State Cup is welcomed into Gold. No?

Its my understanding that spring season is about seeding for the State Cup. And both Gold and Silver are eligible to compete. But I dont think any team can place themselves into Gold, thats at the discretion of the OYSA and member club DOC's.

You can be sure that TT will end up in a bracket with any teams that have beaten or tied them in the last 6mos. LAST thing the petty DoCs want is for TT to win State Cup. They'll pull out all the stops - wouldn't even put ref-mischief off the table. Grown men vs little girls. Sad state of OR soccer.
