These are MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS who work hard and clearly enjoy soccer. Congrats to ALL the TT and CFC players for making it to the final. Good luck with whatever path you take this next soccer year. My daughter didn't play on either team but I will always cheer for the girls who will represent Oregon soccer. Go get 'em at Regionals!
So done with self-righteous parents that post here in the guise of defending the GIRLS. This site really isn't about the girls. It's about the parents. Wake up. Better to spend your time elsewhere if the smack talk upsets you so much.

It was no contest this year. Never lost to any Oregon teams.

Those teams didn't play in ECNL League so weren't ECNL teams now were they?

Still bitter that your DDs team could never beat them, huh?

The more the clubs the more the travel. Travel costs could go up. But maybe not.

Look out for the huge price tag associated with USSDA if it ever comes to Portland. With ALL games being away games (what good club would actually come to Portland to play Thorns Academy?) and the closest competition being a 4 hour flight away it adds up quick. $25K per year minimum without parent travel.

Pretty amazing how quiet this thread has become now that the 2003 crowd has left the room.

"Pow"erful loss in the state cup. Two teams finished higher and it cost their parents about $6K less per kid. That's got to sting, like watching your beloved FCP lose to CFC. Ouch!

Its stupid and meaningless. At this age there is no ECNL so the ECNL v. TA has no place in the conversation.

The TT girls won, CFC was second. No insults needed. It was a fair playing field for all the teams. TT had the hardest route to the finals (travel to Medford, FCP in group play, WST in quarters, THUSC in semis, CFC in final), and CFC shocked everyone after a not so great Spring showing.

Proud of all the 7th graders. The games have started to resemble the beautiful game.

Exactly. Majority of the player movement happens at U14/U15. You'll see the non-ECNL teams start to fade away from here on out - some folding up altogether. And if you have to ask why this always happens, you haven't done your homework.

At this age it cost about the same to be at either club.
