There is no LEAGUE roster freeze for this event. Club administrators must submit tournament rosters for their participating teams to the Oregon Premier League no later than April 5, for verification and approval. The rosters will be returned to the clubs for re-distribution to their teams.

Gotta be careful about "bulking up" for OPL Cup though. Might impact which division the team plays in next fall:

      "Roster Consistency
Teams in the Premier Divisions must retain 10 players from their previous year’s roster (based on official State Cup Rosters) to maintain their place in the Premier Division. If a team does not maintain this number, they will be automatically placed in the First Division.

Probably only applies to non-OPC clubs though...

How did teams in the U15G bracket do it then ? Teams like OSSA or WST Samba. I dont know, but I doubt that either have 10 members from any previous team, not to mention, OSSA is the first year at U15, so that club didnt have any teams from the prior year. Oh wait !!! Thats right, both these teams are from OPL clubs.

That's fine, but what division 1 team should be in premier in place of either of those teams? No division 1 team was dominant this year. You put two teams up from division 1 and they get hammered as badly, if not worse, than the two teams you mention. You want to play in premier and end the season with a -30 GD or play in division 1 and have a shot at winning half of your games?

U15 and above is done on DOC placement, every club can make an argument for playing in Premier after U14. The rule quoted was for U11-14 where they promote and relegate teams. In my opinion they should do some sort of qualifying or placement for U15 and up also as there are to many non-premier teams playing in premier on both the boys and girls side this winter.

              Team placement U-15

IMHO - bottom two of Premier should move down and top two of Division 1 should move up at U15. This would create a sense of urgency in both divisions. Div 1 teams have something to shoot for and earn their movement up and Premier drops bottom two to the lower division.

Sorry to be so dense, but what is a "league roster freeze"?

Hi Cony. Having fun posting this morning? Do you really believe this or are you just having fun while drinking your fourth or fifth cocktail this morning?

Curious that the TA reference and Cony reference occurred within the same hour. BTW, Cony is an email guy not a forum guy. I would assume that TA, like Cony, are way too busy with all of their professional work to bother with this forum. Nice try though.

Borrowing players is the only way his U15 team can compete.

This works well at u11-u14 but not so much at u15-u18. At the high school ages there is so much attrition and consolidation that you are lucky to even have two divisions. You are also assuming that teams in division 1 want to move up which isn't always the case. Most teams in division 1 wouldn't be competitive in premier and they know it.
