UPDX has high school players playing in the fall league. Girls that are playing games during the week are out today playing in the fall league. I thought that was not supposed to happen. Feels a bit unethical.

some recreational OR. Boys hs players also play in one off games vs. in- season WA Club teams during the fall, while their OR. HS season is full tilt 5 to 6 days a week. Overuse injuries are a myth at updx instead acronyms and side hustle Privates rule and clueless parents drool....
Genius moves, by a Genius club.
Not aware that or. Hs Girls were also grabbing Xtra games on top of hs season with the oysa leagues this fall.

First, parents need to parent not clubs. Are you speaking of 9th graders who can also play OYSA fall because of their age?

it is a club issue and a parent issue. Parents are suckers and will often do whatever to make the club or coach happy without regard to whether their kid will suffer. I don’t blame the parents so much—we only see one kid. We don’t see the bigger picture or have the training to know about such things like overuse injuries or whatever.

Nevermind that female athletes are more prone to ACL injuries. Whatever.

So we know that that coach, who I think is female also, would rather win using high school kids than allow more playing time for kids no playing high school. What a sh!tty move. Saw they were playing OPFC which does not allow its kids to participate at all with club teams during the season, if they play high school.
so yes, BS move by the coach and club. The unethical part is where one team using assets that the other team will not use just to win.

If I were an 8th grader I’d be pissed that a kid who is getting games and more practice with high school is waltzing in to play on weekends and taking minutes away. It’s screws over trapped players.
