Can HS players play OYSA in the Fall league

UPDX has high school players playing in the fall league. Girls that are playing games during the week are out today playing in the fall league. I thought that was not supposed to happen. Feels a bit unethical.

How could they feel the team if those girls didn’t play? What’s so unethical about it?

Caring about club profits over player well being by selling the dream to delusional parents. Including on the boys side of caring about being ecnl and money so much you are running hs athletes into the ground in the fall rather than working together with local clubs to create an ecnl league that would play in spring like all the other local clubs did.

It’s sad I have to clarify this for you.

Most HS recreational level players do play in oysa sanctionef HS Coed rec leagues, since they didn't make a HS team.

some recreational OR. Boys hs players also play in one off games vs. in- season WA Club teams during the fall, while their OR. HS season is full tilt 5 to 6 days a week. Overuse injuries are a myth at updx instead acronyms and side hustle Privates rule and clueless parents drool....

Genius moves, by a Genius club.

Not aware that or. Hs Girls were also grabbing Xtra games on top of hs season with the oysa leagues this fall.

They had a varsity player from West Linn that is in 9th grade playing. Perhaps others from other schools too. Maybe they can’t field a team without using their high school team rostered players.

First, parents need to parent not clubs. Are you speaking of 9th graders who can also play OYSA fall because of their age?

Talking about kids that play 5 days a week for practice and games also playing games for club on weekends. I guess there is no rule banning this but it seems unwise and maybe unethical and shortsighted. I guess overuse injuries are not a thing we worry about anymore. Nevermind that female athletes are more prone to ACL injuries. Whatever.

it is a club issue and a parent issue. Parents are suckers and will often do whatever to make the club or coach happy without regard to whether their kid will suffer. I don’t blame the parents so much—we only see one kid. We don’t see the bigger picture or have the training to know about such things like overuse injuries or whatever.

Our northern border State (Wa.) does not allow it's it's in season HS players to play the same activity in club at the same time. The OSAA doesn't yet flex that type of muscle yet. But, many OR HS Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, Football and Soccer programs don't ever allow the kids to play club: AAU, Travel Baseball, Softball, Volleyball, 7 v 7 flag football or club soccer during their HS prescribed and dedicated HS short season, for obvious reasons...which is lost on the genius crew at upds.

So we know that that coach, who I think is female also, would rather win using high school kids than allow more playing time for kids no playing high school. What a sh!tty move. Saw they were playing OPFC which does not allow its kids to participate at all with club teams during the season, if they play high school.

so yes, BS move by the coach and club. The unethical part is where one team using assets that the other team will not use just to win.

It's not unethical. The club and HS are just doing exactly what the parents want.

Huh? Please expand on your nonsensical post.

Any clarity or rationale would be appreciated, otherwise it's just more internet trope.

If I were an 8th grader I’d be pissed that a kid who is getting games and more practice with high school is waltzing in to play on weekends and taking minutes away. It’s screws over trapped players.
