Without a doubt that coach would throw the game. His team didn't live up to expectations this season and he's already been replaced for next year. And everyone knows that Cony is more than capable of doing something like that again.

Well you know nothing about how the game went, do you? The game was tied 1-1 going into the second half. In the second half, WST had so many shots on goal and missed most, but scored 1. EST was able to score their 2nd goal to tie it up. Both teams played a great game. Quite fun to watch skills at this age group.

There is absolutely no way that the WST coach "threw" the game as you suggest. He is a class act and hates to lose. Add to this, his son played at UP along side Stevie Evans, whose dad happened to be one of the EST coaches. Both squads including coaching staff, are talented and are motivated to win. In state cup, wins send messages. Coaches do not like to go to PKs.

The current Copa coach is not good. With the talent he has none of the games should have been close. Why do you think Cony removed him from the team? It's not because he is a "talented" coach. He played his kid almost every minute of every game when he didn't deserve it.

He IS an excellent coach. Sure maybe he played his kid more than he should have, but that's how it is when you coach your kid's team. AND Cony didn't remove him from the team. Besides if he was terrible as you're implying why would he be coaching the upcoming U12 and two high school teams?

Cony made coaching changes for next year for quite a few coaches. Westside has a policy of changing up coaches every few years and the coaches know it. Sometimes coaches ask for the change so that they can start with a team in another age group.

If I am understanding what you are posting, it seems that your actual underlying issue involves your son. To attack the coach on a forum that he doesn't even know about has me wonder what your true agenda is here.

Are you saying that your coaching skill set is superior to the WST coach that you can place judgement on his abilities to coach when games are close? Are you saying that Copa is so superior to all other U13 teams that they should not have had any lose games? Do you have an 'A' coaching license? Have you personally played professionally and ran your own club before? Are you saying that you can coach ODP?

Since you mentioned that his kid played did you also complain to Cony? Are you mad about your son's playing time? Has your son taken advantage of the soccer training offered beyond team practices? How about offering up a "thank you" to the team, the coach, and the other families for a great year to date, and looking forward to whatever happens next? These are U13s. Things really change in U14 year.

WST does not typically change coaches after ONE season. The team under performed and Cony made the decision that he was not going to coach that team again because too many people threatened to leave if the current coach stayed on with the team. Know your info before you post.

Excellcent coaches don't get dismissed from stacked teams after one season unless the team performed sub par.

And how did you obtain this information?

From the meeting I had with Cony.

Is the problem solely based on his son being on the team? He obviously has great credentials. His older h.s. team is doing fine.

You are talking about Copa right?

If so this team is playing the full U13 year, so what are you talking about?

Really? Okay, give me a hint and I can cal Cony right now and ask him about your meeting. He is totally honest and will come right out and say if it's true.

I will tell you that the relationship with the Copa coach and his U16s and U18s is solid, so you must be having personality issues. The coach is not the problem. Nor are the players.

What will you do if Copa makes it to the final? Whine still?

What if your son doesn't make the team next year, or if your son doesn't play much? What if this year's coach's son is on the team next year and plays alot. Will you then call it a club bias instead of seeing that maybe you or the issue?

No he wouldn't throw a game. He has never done that for my son's team, and he didn't do it for the Tualatin team.

Whose expectations did the team not live up to? Yours or the club's expectations.

I don't know what island you have been living on but WST does change coaches sometimes after a year or two. It is the policy to do so with few exceptions. For what its worth, players are trained during practices and many coaches will direct or let players play without much instruction during games. This is a great way for players to learn how to play and adapt to different styles of play. Afterall, players will have different coaches throughout their school, ODP and collegiate years.

Posting 4x in a row doesn't make it seem as if it's multiple people posting. Just say everything you need to say in one post.

And no, WST does not change after one season unless the current coach isn't working out. There's a reason JB is going to take over and I guarantee that Copa will be the top team next season. And to answer your question the team didn't live up to anyone's expectations, not JBs, not Conys, not the parents and surely not the players.

CFC is by far the best U13 team. We've dominated all comers. It's incredible that we won't be playing Premier in the fall. That said, we'll take home a sweet State Cup trophy to whet or appetites. Premier league teams...how do your feel your "top" division doesn't even have the best team.
