If all the good non-OPC teams went back to OYSA there wouldn't be much of a league. A lot of divisions are half or more non-OPC teams.

In fact they would have little more than a division at each age group. Except where there are multiple teams from a club maybe you could have a Westside division, and a FC Portland division. Boy it would be just like intramural sports in college!

At least it would be a way for OPL to guarantee they win their own trophy.

How do you know they're not petitioning the OPL directly? You know nothing of what they're doing so if anyone needs to keep their racist mouth shut it's you.

I don't have a son at CFC but my son does play U13 and out of all the teams we've faced CFC played the best soccer.

The teens I know will tell you it is incredibly lame, and looks like an adult trying to seem cool or clever, but not really getting it.

Do you really need more than 1 division? If that 1 division contains almost all of the best players in the area why bother with the rest? Unless you're only running the league to make money...

The solution is very simple and is used in some other regions. Have only the 8 OPC clubs put teams in the NPL divisions of OPL. Always the same 8 clubs, no promotion, no relegation. Then the lower divisions are populated based on DoC judgement as to each team's ability. The best players move to the 8 OPC clubs and you're done with all this bickering. BC, for instance, goes one step further and says that you have to play for one of the premier clubs (OPC 8 for us) to even be able to try out for their version of ODP. Simple to understand, easy to administer, stable environment for the kids. What's not to like about it?

Isn't that the OPC goal? Except for ODP is ran through OYSA and it creates a little gliche in their monopoly! OPC and their rules make sense for Portland teams only.

I think the question is why four groups? When they had 10 teams they did 2 groups of five. Why does 11 teams make four groups? Why would you ever want a group of two when the top two advance? They will just play one meaningless preliminary game and advance to the quarterfinals? It doesn't make sense.
