You write as if you are the one with "common sense" and that the rules you do not like are "arbitrary". The truth is that you cannot admit that you are 100% wrong on this topic.

You continue to hold on to your little idea that WAFC was mistreated with their difficult schedule and that they "deserve" to be Premier. News for you: they didn't make the cut.

If you had any courage at all, you would tell us why you are SO MOTIVATED to have them promoted to premier! Isn't it because you are a WAFC parent and your little John or Juan has to play another year of challengeless soccer?! There can be no other explanation why so you are so anal about trying to have a rule changed so that this SUPER SPECIAL TEAM OF ALLSTARS can play with the best in Oregon!

This is amusing. You are so blind by your ambition for your kid. As someone else correctly pointed out, you should just move your boy to another team that IS playing at the level you want him to. (Or are you the WAFC coach!?)

Yes, do not confuse them. The WAFC coach is a good guy. I wouldn't be surprised thouh if that was him defending the CFC team.

Just ignore the CFC haters. It's just the WST Copa parents. They fear that it's just another team that might beat them and then they can't brag about how amazing their team is. In fact both times CFC faced Samba it wasn't Samba they faced. It was Copa players using the Samba name. Games were 4-3 and 3-3. WST does what ever it takes to win.

i am losing track of who is who....

              so here is my summary

              1. CFC will buy his way into premier
              2. Samba and Copa will both play premier
              3. drop NEU or Rush for CFC
              4. WAFC well nothing to say, they won Div 1 (with the easy schedule, lets thank the OPL for that)

              what did i miss?

I'd be worried too if I was a WST parent. They had such high hopes of dominating U13 this year and FC, Hood River, and now Samba have stomped on that. Imagine if CFC got into premier............ poor, poor WST. Or imagine if the OPL had rules on guest playing. WST would have to leave the league.

If CFC had played the schedule that WAFC played they would have finished first. I'm not sure what your beef is with CFC but they belong in premier next year.
This is an issue throughout OPL's scheduling system. Anyone with an inkling of soccer knowledge will know that a league size is set to correspond to number of playing days. In the simplest model each team plays twice (one home, one away). Everyone plays everyone and you can accurately rank teams. With OPL's chaotic system of allowing anyone to participate if they have an OPC member advocating for them, they end up with a result where some teams have difficult schedules while others have easier schedules. At the end of the season it is impossible to compare the records. If the seasons were independent of each other, not such a big deal, but when you have to win promotion, those few points can really count.

After all, it's not about the team, is it? It's about developing the players...
                          Careful...peak into OPL master plan...

Once again the blind arrogance comes to the surface. OPL's model that only a select few teams will be at the top, and all of the best players will move to those teams is bad for Oregon Soccer. The way to improve soccer in oregon is to encourage teams to play each other, and to spread out talent.

If you take two talented children, put one on an average team with good coaching, and one on a strong team with good coaching, the individual will develop the most on the average team. They will have more opportunity to experiment in different roles, and solve different problems. They will get more playing time, and develop leadership as well while they help their teammates.

The OPL model puts all the talent in one team where it doesn't have the same opportunity.

The ultimate question is are you focused on your ego connected to your child's team, or are you focused on your child learning and growing.

The team and/or the club will eventually let you down. Try not to get too attached to either. Just do what you think is best for your child.

We are NOT hatters!!! I don't know the slightest thing about putting together or designing a hat. We may be mad, but definitely not mad hatters. Well wait a minute...the voice in my head is saying something else...hmmm.
