Shameful hire by NWE/Surf. Ryan Johnson has a terrible reputation in youth soccer, the worst in recent memory. He's involved for all the wrong reasons, it shows and everyone even remotely involved in the game knows this. Lloyd Fobi and Linus were faced with a decision to do the right thing for youth soccer, the club and most importantly to protect these young girls. They did the exact opposite to hook up Lloyd's friend from college. The good ol' boys club is alive and well. They can say all the right things on the website and on conference calls but it's your actions that define who you are and this is a new low, even in the messy world of youth sports. To put self interest and nepotism ahead of the best interests of children is absolutely despicable. I'm surprised that these guys would destroy their own reputations for RJ. Any reasonable person can see that this will end very badly. What is the point of having a board if they don't take action now? This decision goes against everything the club claims to stand for, they need to stand up and do the right thing. Override this reckless decision! If they don't and Ryan has even an ounce of integrity, he will check his ego, recognize his failures, and resign.

-Ryan gets fired from the Thorns Academy after it comes out that he's moving to NWE/Surf at the end of the season, and that he and daughter are actively trying to recruit the 2010 Academy team to come with (against ECNL rules?). Mind you this is happening while the team is ranked in the Top 10 in the country gunning for a high playoff seeding. The timing coincides with decisions about coaching assignments for 24-25 ECNL season
- Ryan is announced as Surf's DOC for the girls U15-U19 age groups. Strangely the FB comments are disabled. Recruiting continues from the 2010 Academy team. NWE/Surf players and parents finding out the Ryan wants to replace them with his prior team.
- Ryan is announced as the Head Coach of the 2010 age group and buddy Kalif will head up the 2009 age group. Still recruiting.
-Tryout time. Where are all of the 2010 Thorns girls? Not at Surf. They're at Providence Park along with a large number of the 2010 NWE/Surf girls who are trying to jump ship and want nothing to do with the RJ/Surf train wreck.
-So now here we are. None of the 2010 Thorns Academy team came over with Ryan and he already pissed off the 2010 Surf players and parents because they're not good enough to play with his daughter. Since he's the DOC he gets to decide that he's going to move her up to the 2009 team and "take over as coach" and bump his buddy Kalif out. The only chance he has for beating a Thorns Academy team while coaching his daughter is with the 2009 team because he already caused carnage while coaching the 2009 Thorns last year.

This is a pot stir. The choice of adverbs and words is a dead giveaway. "... over there", ... they have". If you really were a parent there would be worse like " we", " my" and " here" to show belonging.

Is RJ moving to Colorado? His daughter is playing for Real Colorado National in the playoffs. Per the rules, this is only allowed if she is joining Colorado for the upcoming season.

RJ is clearly committed to Oregon Surf.
