    Has Angela lost her mind?

    "Winter Storm Warning

*NOAA Issue Date: 2/22/2013 11:20:00 AM Added zone names to the headline ... ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM PST Saturday for the Cascade foothills of south Washington ... North Oregon and Lane county ... A winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM PST Saturday. * Timing Peak snowfall this afternoon through Saturday morning * accumulation/snow levels ... Snow levels will lower to around 1000 to 1500 feet tonight. Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected by Saturday afternoon with the higher amounts in the south Washington Cascade foothills and northern Oregon Cascade foothills. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel ... Keep an extra flashlight ... Food ... And water in your vehicle in case of an emergency."

For all teams scheduled to travel to Bend and play tomorrow, understand Angela thinks the roads will be "Just Fine". Not really sure what part of only travel in an emergency she doesn't get...Hopefully everyone stays safe.

    You don't have to go...

There's no reason to go. The fields are likely to be snow covered and unplayable. Stay home or better yet go skiing. Do something different for a change.

A team shouldn't have to make this decision. As a league OPL could step in and reschedule three games for the safety of all. Isn't that what leagues are supposed to do?

This is soccer. It's the most important thing in the world that these games get played as scheduled.

Besides when I was little we walked through snow storms to play games, uphill both ways, and we played with a square ball.

Why should the league do anything? Can't the coach of team A call the coach of team B and organize it themselves?

So why do we pay the league?

Ha pretty good one there, my friend. A chuckle out loud.

so they can over bill for ref's, charge you for field space they get for free and give your kids a medal at the end of the season after they post your scores on their website and crown you the victor. now dont you feel fulfilled ?

So that you can shout from the mountain tops "We play in the mighty OPL!!!"

Holy Crap! Check out the road cams for both hwy 26 and 20......There is no visible road. We have a game in Bend next Sunday. Hopefully, the roads will be better. Otherwise, the idea about circumventing the league with coach to coach compromise seems like a really good idea.

Angela will fine the teams if they do not follow her rules....in addition they will both get a loss (see Fall league game between Sherwood and Nemesis U14 where both coaches made the decision based on saftey of their players to play a game at a different field. The refs were notified, but Angela put her foot down and gave both teams a loss and fined them both $180)
