            The docs and doc-ettes

Which team(s) will Gary and Sunny take? Do they normally coach older boys teams? And do they have one or two teams each? What about the other two asssisants?

Is he bringing Victor back to assist? They were pretty tight.

DoC contracts limit them to a max of 1 team each. My guess is Gary will coach an older boys team and Sunny will coach a younger boys team.

Feel free to debate the pros and cons, likes and dislikes, of the existing coaching staff if you like. But unless, and until, the VT DOC's make a formal announcement, any talk of new (or renewed) coaching assignments will be all speculation and conjecture. The backdoor politics of youth soccer take a while to play out.
I hear several present coaches aren't interested in coming back and that coaches from other clubs have shown some interest. Just rumors at this point.
The Vancouver Timbers are planning for 56 advanced competition teams with paid coaches next season. That would indicate a combined coaching staff of at least 30-35 or more.

Old loyalties and personal DOC friendships will keep certain coaches in place. Others may get bumped or reassigned to different age groups or gender. Some present coaches may get their pride and egos bruised if they aren't chosen over another coach for the A-team.

Some surprise coaching shakeups and a few new faces next year should be expected. Parent or player loyalties to old coaches may get cut in the process. Merging two existing
dual club structures into "one big happy family" will take some adjustment. 2013 may turn out to be a transition year with more adjustments to follow.

I love this "advanced competition" crap!! As someone said, kitty, cat, pussy, feline...

Call if what you want. That doesn't change the soccer you're playing.

                      LOL!

One risk of this reorganization is the breaking up of team unity or chemistry, some of which has been years in the making. It tends to happen on its own as individual players develop at different rates, but a forced "rebuilding" with a mix of WSA/VUSA players will be in the cards next year for several teams and coaches.

WSA and VUSA have been rivals for a few years now. It will be a little weird trying to mesh together, no doubt. And out of the shoot, there will be some rough patches. But that all said, I am thrilled that we can finally mesh the talent and put the best possible talent on the same teams. I just hope that they get the teams right and don't get too hung up on politics and past relationships. New coaches, please set it all aside and make the selection process clean. That will be the best medicine for getting this kicked off in right direction.

Agreed, not only will it be interesting to see how the final coaching assignments shake out between competing WSA & VUSA coaches of the same age and gender, but new assigned player roles may get some of the parents rattled.

Last year's "all-star" starting team forward or goalie may be next years' sub. It won't be easy for some to accept their new assignments under a different coach.

Well to say the least a true star will still shine even if it takes time to get used to the new situation. Its the parents that will have to get over it.

I heard U14B coach won't be back. Anyone know the reason?
