Yawn. ECNL in Oregon is a joke. Mediocre teams getting scammed paying more to play other bad teams.

That’s great! Do you know why NW Elite 2007/U16 is not mapped into the Playoffs Showcase B 2007 section of the ECNL app? Did a team in the 2007 Showcase B opt not to pay the expense to go to San Diego for this Showcase and NW Elite 2007 was slotted in their place?

…..OK. I just went and found an answer I think to my own question. It looks like Boise Thorns 2007 and PDA White 2007 qualified for Showcase B, but they have no games scheduled, so presumably they are opting not to go. The San Diego trip is costing most players that have to fly at least $2,500 to go. I can imagine a team and its’ families, if they did not make the Champions League, not wanting to pay this kind of money $$$ simply to go to a Showcase. Looking at the schedules, LA Breakers 2007 and NW Elite 2007 have accepted the offer to go in place of these teams.

They only lost to #1 in their conference SLSG Navy by one goal and beat a few teams higher ranked in their 15 team conference too. They appear inconsistent. Depending on who wins or loses, will affect NW Elite’s next game in their North American Cup tournament play.
Jesus. How much time did you spend on this irrelevance? You seriously need to get a life.

Posting for what reason, then? Huh? To make yourselves feel nationally elite? Again, get a life.

Yes, you are right. My question is this:
When are Oregon parents going to realize that the leadership of our clubs is not suitable to teach our children?
You have Bridge City in GA. That is not a good fit for their club. You have NWE in ECNL and selling the BS on ECRL. Once again, ECNL is not a good fit, and they lie about the benefits of ECRL. The Thorns are selling that they are an Academy of the first team. NOT TRUE. Professional academies do not charge their players; they also have rights to them when drafted. The Thorns charge, and they have no rights to the players. We now have ECRL for boys. Oregon teams will be playing against each other in Boise. How ridiculous is that? And ECRL is just a few weekends in the year. And finally, you have United PDX getting boys ECNL that plays in the fall and clashes with high school soccer. Not a thought going into the welfare of the player.
Youth soccer is a mess right now. It is because parents do not do their research and are not thinking straight. They follow the glory to brag about their child to friends (and strangers).

Competitive soccer and Oregon is not a good fit. They should all play OYSA. But seriously, how bad are NW Elite in ECNL! Their teams got hammered.

How will my average daughter ever get recruited if we do that? Geez.

Great post! Seriously parents, do your research. You are being conned by ECNL. Love the idea, but OR is certainly not qualified to play in it. Why do people fall for this BS?

These sort of posts that we see all the time are such b()llshi+. If all of Oregon is mediocre I suppose we should just all stick to OYSA because that is so awesome. Our top mediocre teams would certainly stay mediocre. Maybe we’d have even fewer kids going to the D3 school everyone bags here.

Seriously, if you have a kid that wants to play in college at all what clubs have the best chance of getting them there. There’s really only a handful that do it with any consistency.

My kid does not play ECNL. But if I had a kid that could make the team I would have her check out both teams. I admit I am not big on the RL stuff but I don’t have any particular issue with it.

I do appreciate the subject of the post because I really don’t follow the ECNL stuff too close as to how it all works. Same with GA. Thanks for the info even if it comes off a bit like advertising for them.

These bitter people like to be negative because it makes them feel better about their kid not making it.

They forget if thorns ecnl didn’t exist those girls would be playing on a club team and move their little Susie down a team
