So what is the point of this message

i agree that we all know the schedules will come out at the last minute, I also agree OPL got their pants in an awfully tight wad about OYSA's poor scheduling, but what is the point of above.

Can we be adults and discuss something, or is this whole board an excuse to use foul language and insult people?

Dude - I have other kids. I travel. My spouse travels. We both work, including many weekends. And I don't mind saying that I and many others like me are quite busy and schedule many months out. OPL was put in place to avoid some of the issues that OYSA had. This is a business and the last minute scheduling is nonsense. Why is it too much to ask that OPL deliver like any other business. Not all of us have the flexibility that you appear to have.

That would require a business manager

If OPL is EVER going to deliver on their promises they HAVE to hire an experienced executive director to hold their staff to higher standards of performance.
I know their juvenile supporters with come back with some lame excuse or slam or take it or leave it but seriously we are sending them enough money to operate like a professional organization isn't about time we get what we are paying for?

I mean seriously all their supporters on this blog do is slam the OYSA and ODP staff for various missteps and transgressions but when are they going to realize they are doing the EXACT same things and take some responsibility?

Come on OPC step up and hire a Executive director so you all can get back to coaching and running your clubs!

Exactly. These OPL supporters were the same people who bitched about these same issues. Step it up OPL.

It's about time the OPL delivered on just one of their many gripes/promises.

Nice idea, but I don't think it will happen. History shows that even when OPC was a council at OYSA their process was to whine and complain and threaten until they got their way, once they got it, they moved on.

I am sure there attitude is "You made the choice to follow us, so tough just deal with it". It would be nice if there was a level of organizational integrity whereby they would feel like it was necessary to honor their commitments.

Instead I appears all they promise is just to manipulate folks to do as they please, once hat happens, they drop any intention of following through on their promises.

Seriously OPL- it is now less than two weeks until the first game is supposed to kick off and no schedule?

The you know it will be on a Saturday or Sunday so quit whining attitude must be from someone with no other kids in their family or nothing else happenin gin their lives on the weekends.

That first game could be in Eugene or in Bend. Responsible people make travel plans in advance to take into account whether or not the roads will be bad, or if you have to spend the night, or find someone to watch your other kids while you are out of town. Not even to mention other family members playing sports or if you have to go to your boss to ask for time off to watch your kid play.

The same complaints about no schedule right before the OYSA season used to start apply to the OPL as well.

Get over it! It's ONE, count it, ONE weekend that you might have to scramble and schedule for. After that it's all planned out. I have 4 kids playing two different sports and I am pretty sure I'll be capable of working it out. Plan in advance like it's an away game in Bend and then if it is you're covered. If it's not, cancel the plan. Pretty simple.

While bitching doesn't help, the entire premise of the OPL breaking off in the first place was that the scheduling was poor and there was too much travel. Now it is exactly the same. I don't care as we dealt with it then and we will deal with it now. Even so, it does seem to have been driven by something other than scheduling and travel.

No, it's not that simple and no, it's not one game. It's a season of planning. Every week that passes without a schedule just causes more and more difficulty. Plan an away game as if it's in Bend? Really, that's your solution? Such idiocy would be laughable but for the fact that for most people life doesn't work that way. Glad you are fortunate enough to have the flexibility for your kids. I and my spouse actually work for a living. How about this solution - get off your arses and get out the damn schedule. It's not rocket science.

Just another OPC/OPL lackey. Same person who bitched about the issue with OYSA as a rationale for the power grab.

More then likely it's one club that cannot tie down their field availability. My resolution would be that that club plays all their games away that weekend. Maybe next time theyll be first to get it done.

Are you certain it has nothing to do with OYSA? Haha.. Funny how when one organization has issues it is their fault and unacceptable but when the successor organization has the exact same issues it is inevitable or a non issue.

So excuse me, but aren't I a customer? Should I have to accept abuse when I ask to be treated as a customer?
