When the dust settles, you'll be oblivious that you were lied to by NWE. You'll still be spouting the BS that your child is on the RL team (but still playing in OYSA). You will go to the one showcase and get hammered, do poorly in OYSA, and watch the coaches play their so-called best players (or kids). Parents are clueless when it comes to developing their children for soccer. Do your research!

100% true. If you play for NWE or The Thorns, you need to look in the mirror.

So if you live on the Westside of Portland where do you go for boys and girls clubs? I see lots of posts bagging on a club but what’s the better option in that area if you are not on the ECNL team? Is any club substantially better? My kid is not with NWE and we have never tried out there by my kid has friends there and was recently talking about it for next year depending how things go this year.

Already thinking of leaving your current club and the season has not started yet. Classy! You are the problem, not the club.

Do your research. TM has been run out of every club she has coached. Their ECNL teams have lost the majority of their games, and that's with OR moving to two clubs. The coaching staff at NWE has the least qualified and they tell lies to players to get them in the club. Need I say more? Set up a meeting with LR and ask to see his vision for the club. It will be a piece of paper with a $ sign on it. To cover his and TM salaries.

More or less why is TM or even Linus coaching youth?
Why are they not coaching pro or college? Take a look around. What ex pros are trying to be in the youth scene with so much opportunity at college and pro levels?

Why do parents think an accent means they know the game? How many fake accents do we have here in Oregon or at NWE and OPFC?

Keep supporting the no regional no national title in a league that matters.

Keep supporting ethically broke clubs who rely on recruiting. *meaning no ability to development*

When players or full squads leave to join teams not winning a state title, regional, or national title you know there is corrupt things occurring in Oregon behind the scene

This site is so f'ing negative. I ask a legitimate question. Did not say there was a problem with the current club. I have a young kid and other than looking at win/loss records I don't know what clubs have a good program. The person posts that if you are at NWE or Thorns you need to look in the mirror--whatever that is supposed to mean.

There is generally a lack of information about clubs it seems like. And what I find is that people talk crap about clubs but less often recommend clubs. But I guess apparently asking here about options is considered being a problem. This site sucks, too many a-holes. But can't expect too much from a site that is totally anonymous.

And you are one of them, Mr. Annonymous! Do your research. Finding out about a club on a forum like this just shows your stupidity. Do you really expect true opinions and ethics from TS? I did my research and found that NWE was a joke. The coaches there are unqualified and do not understand child development.

Another example of "I did the research and know the answers, but not going to share what I think are a better options." But I get it. When someone shares their opinion, a bunch of people $#!+ on it negatively and unproductively. Sometimes it amusing but rarely helpful. This is not because you opinion is necessarily poor or without merit, but because that is all that people do here. Most here aren't here to learn from each other, it is really just a trashing soccer site. It is more fun that way.

There is no yelp for youth soccer. Whatever association, accreditation or membership into the various leagues the club has is to be viewed with skepticism. I get that.

We joined where my kid is at now based on conversations with parents and conversations with the club prior to joining. We were looking for a good experience, growth of skill and person. Not putting any eggs in the scholarship basket. But that doesn't mean that we foreclose the possibility that the current club will not always be the best option. I am not going to say where my kid is at now because I don't know if it is the best option, likely it isn't, but the kid is enjoying things. They're young yet and a long ways off from high school even.

I call BS on your post. You have no clue about player development and are incapable of finding your own research on clubs.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON NWE! They are selling ECRL at GU11 level. You parents are either stupid or deceitful (or both). Signing your daughter up to a program that does not exist, screams stupidity. At least the Thorns admit they are only in it to win.

Agreed. A parent states their reasons for joining a club and admits they don't know everything doesn't know where to obtain best info. And then the Asshat says basically the same thing but translates it into their own ****e post. Hilarious.
