You pay to have your player evaluated at tryouts (some are free). Then your child is selected to be a customer of theirs and placed on a team. At that time you are TOLD what it is that they will do (games, leagues, tourneys, coach, etc.) and what it is that it will cost. If you select this option, you are under contract and obligated to perform (and so are they). If you do not like, nor agree with any of the terms you have the right NOT to accept their offer and go elsewhere. Should they fail to perform as agreed, you might be entitled to a refund of some sort.

Same could be said for the blogger I responded to. That information was not kept very private.

Like they say. There are two sides to every story. I can read the OYSA board meeting minutes. OPL's I cannot.

Whom am I to believe. Some nameless/faceless person your pretending to be or an organization that is public in nature and benefits nothing by posting false or misleading information on their website stating it was part of their "public" meeting ??

Since you seem to have a bit of "insider" info, why not share and provide proof of it ???

So your stating you spoke to someone directly (or you were part of the actual meeting that took place) that was part of the negotiations between the OPL and OYSA and you viewed those documents that were presented ? Otherwise, the babble you just spewed was just that....BS !!! You have no proof of anything other then that which you've dreamed up here.

Good for you. Way to keep the OPL spin alive and kicking.

LOL. Did they publish their minutes from their meetings with the Timbers and the OPL? Timbers rejected them too!

You clearly know it and know why.......... LOL

Do any of their minutes list exact dollar figures for anything? No of course not, nor should they. Our DOC told us that the OPL put together a proposal to OYSA that would include them playing in the OYSA State Cup but OYSA's response was pay us xxx amount which the OPL said was way to much money. Again hear say but there is a lot of that going around.

It is pretty clear that most of the information on this site about the OPL is OYSA staff trolling. They have an inferior product and this is their only viable option.

                  i don't think so

I think if given a choice the vast majority of parents who opt to go back to OYSA

                  OYSA VS OPL

Both run leagues. OYSA has a better rec system but other than that is has been the same
                  State Cups. Same
Regional. OYSA has a better regional system
Nationals. OYSA has a better National Tourn.
Ref, about the same maybe a little better with OYSA getting 3 ref more often
ODP vs ID2 ODP is the clear winner, but now with OPL and Timbers very costly A OYSA sytem
minus the Timbers will have the same coaches but cost less?
NWCL, WCDA all can be supported by OYSA and likely better cord with WA

OYSA more transparent, more open to discussion for clubs outside the OPC.

I just read through the OYSA minutes. It lloks like they have found a area to market their services to now. The seem to really be working on the Hispanic market as the option now.

Hasnt that always been the direction of OYSA, to help, support and foster the game of soccer across the entire state of Oregon ?

OYSA has been supporting the Latino community for a very long time. Only now, as they are actually starting to become very organized and need the assistance of a nationally ran organization.

No. The fact is that the lies and deceit the OPL spread during their campaigning is now coming to surface as just that, which most of knew all along. The rest of you were just too brain washed to see anything different.

                        Keep drinking the cool-aid

Now we have the OPL which has sold out to theRimbers. Just wait for costs to start going up so GW and Paulson don't have to actually invest I their DA program. We will have all our girls and lower division boys programs subsidize our local professional team. What a crock!

Bull****!!! I would never go back to the OYSA. You are a very small minority! The rest of the educated soccer parents in this sate will stay right where we are with the OPL thank you very much! You rec parents can have the OYSA!!!!!

                              Systems Normal All Fouled Up.

The hostility of your post tells me that you are way to close to the OPC to understand what a laughing stock Oregon is in the National youth soccer community. Yes all of you directors can go to your meetings and get pats on the back for expanding US Club and a few of you get to cash in $100K salaries but *** have you done for the kids and the actual development of youth soccer in the state?

                              Since the start of OPL:

Are our teams MORE successful out of state? NFW

On the girls side are we sending more kids to D1 college programs?....Less actually!

Do we have a club strong enough for ECNL membership? Not yet and with zero help from OPL.

On the boys side are we developing more pro pro prospects? ...The same but not more!

Has the OPC developed a funding source to reduce the cost of pay to play? No.

So where are the benefits other than there are different people doing the SAME things?

Is the OPC more transparent? Yeah right!

It's a very sad story that the egos and personality conflict of ADULTS continues to hurt the kids......very very sad indeed!

BTW I am not a OYSA staffer just a person that can see the forest for the trees!

Rec, is that why the two best team in the state, by the best team in the state from WSM went OYSA state cup last year? When given a choice
