But that is truth, if my kid can't make a top team at VT will be back at Pacific. We are going to try though. And there are plenty of parents who feel Pacific is better then VT. Had to stand by them at many games. It drives me crazy. But it's not kosher to tell a parent on you same kids team their full of it.

Are you sure they are not saying that Pacific is better than VT *FOR THEM* ? When I hear people trash talk another club, it's almost always because of a completely self-centered reason. Like a bad experience for their kid which a particular coach which all of a sudden translates into the entire club being f*cked-up.

It is true that CWSA had a larger rec program than VT. That came from the way the two clubs were formed. CWSA was a large rec program that added a Premier level (FC Vancouver). VT was a Premier only club (Columbia Premier) that added a rec/select level through merger. With this latest merger, the club now has large numbers at all levels, and no real competition (within Clark County) for Premier players.

I think there will be some road bumps as the details get hammered out. I am certain that there will be some politics and some jockeying for coaching positions. There will also be some families that don't like the decisions. But the structure is there. The numbers are there. The potential is there.

I am excited to see the talent pool broaden. I am excited to see a large Rec and Select base to funnel into premier. I even like the option of Pacific/FCSC as a Select/Rec base option to compete against the new VT. But as you said, our diluted Premier system has put our kids and our SWWa clubs at a disadvantage. The most exciting part about the merger is we should be able to compete against the top teams in the NW on a routine basis. I am talking Crossfire, WPFC, FC, WT, and ET. And with that, those kids that are traveling to play for other clubs should also stay home. Why drive to Seattle when you have a top level club in your backyard. Like I said, it will be a little rocky coming out of the gate. But I also expect to compete with the best right out of the gate too.

When your kid is 13 or 14 you start looking at which club offers opportunities to get advanced skills and play against advanced teams. That why so many kids move Timbers both boys and girls. The bad experinces have been parents talking up Pacific like they really are in the same league as the VT club. Pacific was never built to be a premier club. It has it's purpose but don't blame kids who want to try to move on up. It just like picking colleges. State schools are good but, if your kid has a chance to get to Yale or Harvard why hold them back?

Who do you know is "blaming kids" and who do you know actively wants to "hold them back"? Are you really incapable of understanding that some people actually prefer Pacific to Timbers? If Pacific was so worried about kids financially being able to afford it they would not think about merging the club as cost will go up. Also, as a Pacific person I get sick of hearing how Pacific can compete with VT. They can't. Sick of hearing my fellow Pacific parents raving Pacific is on the same caliber as VT. If your angry at anyone be angry with your own Pacific board and DOC who are pushing this merger. When the clubs merge cost will go up, there will really know no options for "middle of the road players", parents who can't afford the $1000 per kid will have to go back to recreational. No, I am not rich but I am looking toward the future and VT is the club for serious dedicated soccer players to go try for. I don't say much on sidelines just have to listen to all those Pacific parents so why don't you STFU yourself. Hence moving to VT hopefully. Agree totally. So why woudl Pacific merge with FCSC. The two DOC of the club and some Pacific Board members still pushing to make it happen. Pacific parents better speak up now or forever hold their peace. Talk it by next year going to happen.
