I agree...I wouldn't call picking up PDX Metro "leftovers" a tryout.....I think it's more like the first 17 players that show up with a hearbeat make the team

We made two teams through try-outs and the few players that did not make the team. We referred them to the FCSC supplemental try-outs. They were able to make their "A" premier team.

So I think Pacific just does try-outs to see which kids need to be referred to FCSC. As it seems that club does not cut anyone, unless you don't have a checkbook.

And for the ones that didn't have a checkbook, they were sent to VT and nabbed a scholarship.

i dont think anyone good enough for a Timbers scholarship would be at Pacific or FCSC.

Not that it matters to anyone on this forum, but do the kids with checkbooks end up developing and becoming better players throughout the season? Or is this just parental egos and bashing clubs we are talking about here?

FCSC did have a few teams that beat Pacific consistently. I agree the Pacific tryouts are a joke. The parent coaches already have who is making teams set up. ITs a big joke. I would like to hear an honest opinion on the VT tryouts. I have a younger player who I am looking at VT for but, don't want to waste my time if they are already set at U12. You know, mom is team mother so kids sucks still on team. I would also like to know how training is for yournger kids. That is the key. Do trainers work with each team?

Pacific was allowing them to join the alliance, not allowing them to take over. You cannot run your club into the ground and then expect to have carte blanc authority in joining a much larger club. I can guess which ego's and salaries held it up.

I talked with both DOC's also......they both wanted this to happen. I also have heard that this merger is dead. This is unfortunate, I really wanted this to happen.
