There are several TA kids back in high school soccer. TA kids have to be all in now...can't even go to regular high school because they have to start practice early afternoon.

ECNL kids are playing both...which is too much soccer with no rest. Every top athlete would tell you that you have to rest the body. United was going to do it no matter the impact on the high school kids.

Many TA castoffs are making very little impact on their respective teams. Just goes to show how poorly run it is and how political the programs are along with odp. How many local 05/06/07 kids are even still on TA?

          Thanks for the laugh.

ask the teams with them how they are doing or how mad the parents of high schoolers are doing after these kids came
back into the fold and pushed kids down or out.

TA can’t create talent where it doesn’t exist.

Yawn. We have played 3 teams with TA cast-off, and the only difference I saw was that we went 3-0 as opposed to 1-2 against same teams last year. Seriously, the hype of those kids at U-12 vs what they are now left me no-plussed. They may have pushed kids down or out, but that doesn't change the cold reality that they are not good. Welcome to mediocrity.

There have been a lot of good players come through Portland the last 10 or so years. The Timbers continue to double down on South American players and can't dominate MLS.

Neither Rubio Rubin nor Marco Farfan are remotely dominating MLS.

Unless you're suggesting that the metro area should be producing lots of high level talent, but this is being squelched by the TA, your argument is nonsense.

This is not to defend the Timbers, who have been running a crap academy.

It's not just that the TA kids are average, it's that they seem to be average in exactly the same way.

What the heck are they doing at that place?

next week should be a good week to measure top teams...Jesuit plays #2 Lincoln on Monday and then #1 Westview on Thursday. Should give us an idea on who the top team in greater Portland. Obvious the preseason polls were wrong on Grant and West Linn

Lake Oswego tied Lincoln AT Lincoln. Westview just tied Mountainside last night. Jesuit is decent and put a beatdown on Grant, but otherwise have not played anybody but LaSalle.

Some corrections. This past week Westview tied Century and beat Glencoe. Mountainside tied Sherwood and LaSalle, not bad for a team that got mercy-ruled by Lakeridge the week before.

Westview and Mountainside don't play each other until October.

There isn’t really an at Lincoln right now, but that was a good result for LO.
