This is what happens when supply doesn't match demand. Funny ****e repeated in the entitlement age. Only bad ass boys make it at d1 schools.

No greater truth has ever been told. Other than elite women in the states can't even earn a living wage playing in the NWSL which adds to this complete upside-down comedy show.

There are a couple ways to do it on the girls side (I’m sure it’s similar on boys). You can technically play for a USYS league team and a US clubs - so for example play for a GA team and an ECNL team. You could also play on a OYSA team and a GA/ECNL team. Having said that, most clubs won’t allow it to happen so it’s incredibly rare. There are some kids who play SCA in one league and then OYSA with another team, for example. Again, it’s just rare.

The other way is as a discovery player in ECNL (I’m sure GA has similar). Basically that means you’re on a team in another league or far from an ECNL club, and you sign with an ECNL club to be able to play games/train. It’s similar to a training player, but with the ability to dress for games. Clubs are far more willing to let players do this as their main club is still the focus, while the discovery player club allows the player other opportunities.

Just a heads up, there is no such thing as an ECNL club. Any bona fide youth club in the states can enter a league, a showcase or a tourney of their choice, as long as it is sanctioned.

Guess your kid's club didn't make the cut to be included in the Elite "Clubs" National League. Only clubs deemed "Elite" are invited to join the league. That leaves out the clubs of just about every person on this forum...

They can't earn a living because not enough people pay to watch. Sorry but no one cares.
