    What a complete loser. Seriously.

Congrats to OPFC and hoping you bring one home for Oregon.

It was 08's and the other team started it after going down 3 goals in overtime.

OPFC lost 2-1. Boca was better this time and deserved the win.

Great run by OPFC, weren’t supposed to be here in the first place and made the finals. Sets a high bar for next year.

WST parents your kids are good at soccer and as young people but YOU make them arrogant for claiming they are the best 09’s in the country. Just remember you’re in OYSA and really haven’t had any real competition! When your boys play SuperCopa, Dallas Cup, Mancity Cup and they are clear standouts then we can debate about how good they are.

Not sure where this came from. I think we are seeing some shifting in local soccer though as UPDX, OPFC and WSM are clearly the top 3 programs in the state. WSM has been the class of Oregon for years and has the reputation, coaching and kids tend to flock there from all over portland. OPFC has built a decent coaching staff, (Vytas- just a year here before moving to the Thorns 1st team, College coaches, TDP coach, etc) and UPDX being a massive club with super competition within their own ranks and a bunch of talented kids....

No reason for a parent of these three clubs to feel insecure enough to post about it. No reason for a parent of kid that plays on other clubs to be upset either. Just let the boys (girls) play and have fun.

Why not just leave it at ‘WST parents your kids are good at soccer and as young people’…? But you can’t because you insecurities creep in. These kids are working hard and hopefully having fun and learning some good life lessons along the way. Are you this toxic around your child? Turning them into a sore loser? That’s too bad, if so. Go give them a hug and tell them you are proud of them. And don’t qualify it. That will go further than teaching them to disparage their competition.

When did anyone on the WST 09s claim to be the "best 09s in the country"? They're a good team, and have two consecutive state cups, and Jaime for all his faults does know how to coach, but there's no team in Oregon which I would consider "best in the country", or even in the top 20 for their age group. Perhaps if we ignore MLS Next and BECNL teams; we've got a few that will be at USYS nationals, but some people need to put down the bong.

Jaime s learing how to coach Fot him it's a long journey given the challenge of his character flaws of course. Hopefully he can develop into a respected coach in at least Oregon.

It’s only one game, long season ahead.

But yeah, the OPFC team is stacked. Multiple TA kids, bunch of the team doing Timbers Discovery, 5 different goal scorers today. Played 18 different kids. Sheesh.

WSM was basically all about two kids. Those two played well and combined for 3 goals, but it’s a team game. Not nearly as talented of a team as OPFC.

UPDX lost 2-0 to WPFC, who finished 5th in Northwest ECNL last year. It’s early, but expect them to finish 6th or 7th in the league.
