Westside 2009 Boys 2 times Champions,National League Champions, Fall league Champions, Spring League champions!
The Best team in the State.
Congrats for doing what the Westside 05 team has never been able to do. A lot of Westside honks always like to say that Westside has the best program at older ages and that the younger ages are just kick and Chase and do not matter. Good to see that the narrative has changed since it is Westside's kick and Chase team that finally won one. Oh, FYI UPDX won 2 boys State titles, Westside won 2 boys state titles and OPFC won 2 boys state titles (and lost 2). Party on Metros...or is it Xfinity? I know the name change will turn the corner for your program!
This 09 team is something special. Maybe the best single boys team produced in Oregon yet. Just wait.
Correction/edit: Timbers Academy has won the 'club' HS ages since 2012 & to be clear Summit HS won the '03' HS Senior/College freshman amateur adult title in the usys adult state cup.

I don't know of anyone at WT who said anything as stupid as suggesting the 08s and 09s are just playing kick-and-chase, but carry on. John Bain is an excellent coach. Jaime seems to have struck gold with the 09s. Both are excellent teams to see. No sour grapes from the 05s at all.
As far as the name change goes, it's just going back to tradition. Will it matter? Probably not too much, the soccer landscape is much different here than it is was in 2010.
My silly prediction is that one of the affects of uPDX's recent success (even if they might have been disappointed with their state cup results on the boys side) is we might see a wave of club consolidations; a big part of uPDX's recent success is simply that they are a big club. While a lot of their nearly 3000 players are rec players, being large has its advantages with regards to recruiting and placement. How that might affect any specific clubs, I don't know.

Don't jump into the troll sphere with this clown. All they did was lump the 'younger ages' in a generic category described as 'kick n chase' in hopes of winding you up, which they did.
They obviously don't know anything about the level of play evidenced with either of the Westside teams mentioned, or have a clue about the quality of the co-coaches at 08 or solo coach at 09.
They seem to dislike anything called westside, more power to them.
