Just look at their results: U13's- last place 0 wins 14 losses 2 draws, U14s- Last place 0 Wins 15 losses, U15's- Second to last place, 1 win 13 losses 2 draws, U16's Only good team in 4th place and they are from Idaho, U17s- 2nd to last place 2 wins 11 losses 1 draw, U19's- 12th out of 15th 2 wins 11 losses 2 draws.

If you want your kids to thrive choose the coach not the label. There are OYSA teams with great coaching. Reputation is also key.

Yup, a brand on its own does not provide development

Did they announce coaches for next year?

Choosing from a Ocean of no-name coaches in the OYSA & ECNL PDX market translates into 'brand' winning the day. Without any body of work amongst these no-name OYSA/ECNL coaches they don't even have a 'reputation' or track record of achievement to consider.

This is just not true. There are quite a few local coaches that have a great track record of both winning and player development.

Thorns have 1 maybe 2 coaches that fit this.

NWE ECNL girls now has 4 solid examples of good local coaches

Kyle was a good one and got let go from NWE. WT GA has Peter. UPDX has Lu. Some good coaches that don’t need brand.

                Lu is a good coach!

PCU has a few good ones too. But I think 2 of them just went to NWE?

The PCU 08G coach seems great and seems to have had a lot of success with both girls and boys teams over the years.

Ive heard decent things about Sarah P formally of SCA

It is amazing how the thorns keep beating up on NW with "bad coaches" Do you think this will change next year?

Keep? The younger ages will change.

This is comical. All this talk of coaches and who is better. Let’s start with this: Who are the assigned coaches for the Thorns in 2022/2023? I can’t find this info anywhere. Other clubs have announced. Thorns tryouts are like 10 days away. Does no one factor that in anymore? Is it posted and I’m just daft?

NWE has 4 good examples? 1 has been fired from the Beaverton Schools and another has been unsuccessful in the last 3 programs/club in the last 3 years. They might have 2 at best.

The younger Thorns teams may be the best of the bunch.

Prov Park and likely some THPRD for practices. Liberty for games (and possibly some THPRD also).
