Also, RVS was admitted to the RCL for the fall league. I would guess this has helped them attract some strong players.
Some people seem to think that teams are static from one year to the next, and therefore try to equate last spring's results to current results. It's a new soccer year and some teams are much different than they were last year. So even if Pacific FC Blue had beaten RVS in the spring league (which they did not), it wouldn't mean they could beat them now.
And so far this soccer year, Washington teams have had very good success when playing Oregon teams.
Pacific FC Blue beat the RVS Slammers in the PSPL WA Cup.

So according to the law of comparing scores, the argument here is:
Pacific FC Blue beat Rainier Valley Slammers LAST SPRING + Rainier Valley Slammers tied Valencia YESTERDAY = Pacific FC Blue could beat Valencia TODAY.
Of course one could use that same logic, using MORE CURRENT results, to say:
Valencia was 4-0 against several of Oregon's best teams TWO WEEKS AGO + Rainier Valley Slammers tied Valencia YESTERDAY = Rainier Valley Slammers could beat most any team in Oregon TODAY.

I think that the Pacific FC game was only brought up because CRAZY Valencia parents came on here bragging about how they are going to obliterate (8-0 beat) every team in Division 1.
Dear Valencia Parents,
Do you realize that the local soccer community despises your team? It has nothing to do with how good you are. Timbers Reds are better than your team and do not have 1000 posts about how awful they are. GET OVER YOURSELVES! Stop worrying about your rankings and resort to bragging / complaining on these forums. I hate to tell you this, but statistically, half (or more) of your players won't even make it to playing HS before they quit. Of those, a smaller amount will even play college. Your team will never be nationally ranked (yes, your parents brag about this all the time -- I guess you don't see the non-Valencia parents laughing behind your backs) and won't stay together for very much longer. Already, you have lost more players in 3 years than any other A team in the area.
Grow up. Stop shopping around for clubs, coaches, and leagues that are the "best" for your precious soccer princesses. Just be good parents, set good examples of sportsmanship, teach your daughter to love sports and fitness, and have fun. This immature behavior on your part is embarrassing to all of us.
Sincerely,
Every other Soccer Dad or Mom that has ever met you
