Both Milltown United (Cedar Mill) and Oak Hills are both considering developing comp programs. Both are putting teams into OYSA's PML league this year and have some teams entered into the Mt Hood Challenge.

The more you compete the better you'll be!

Well your view is incomplete. 2 Clubs? I believe you are talking about just THUSC and WST, what about FC PDX? BSC? SSC? HSC? There are plenty of competitive clubs on the westside and your choices certainly aren't limited.

Sorry AUSC, your members are asking questions about the loss of their data. The law suits are coming.

You have limited amounts of turf fields if the amount you have is not sufficient to meet total demand then you have two choices

          1)Build more

          2) Have a lottery or some other system that gives everyone who wants to use those limited fields an equal chance to have access.

That means that WST will be back using some grass fields. They'll survive and since they have such good connections at THPRD I bet the quality of the grass fields starst to improve!

If Cedar Mill feels its the right thing to do to start a Comp Club then I think he'd welcome them in. I would! You want to compete allright lets go!

I think he'd also want to work with THPRD to expand the number of turf fields.

To THPRD's credit they do have some more fields coming on line in the next few years.
First look up the meaning of the word DILUTION.

Then look around the country and see what all of the other more successful clubs have in common. they are large clubs with large and high quality staff's with which they attract the best players. continuing to slice the pie smaller and smaller only GUARANTEES that Oregon soccer will continue is slide into irrelevance.

WA, Nor Cal & So Cal already have stopped coming to our tournaments because they do not get competitive games and we are losing our best girl players to WA ECNL teams. Just because you think you "know" something does not make it true. Do some research and teach yourself what is happening in the REAL world if you really want to know what will make Oregon and Metro area soccer better.

To Keith and the rest of the WST Mafia

            Don't be afraid of competition!

That they are not coming is not a result of dilution its because you suck or your tourney sucks!

If you're losing players to WA it not because of dilution its because your program has stagnated and sucks Stop blaming others for your shortcomings

Dear AU parents - you are wasting your money with a crap club. Your kids are not learning anything. Stop throwing your money away and go to a decent club. Your club is run by a man with a record of spousal abuse.

By your logic the reason you're doing so poorly is what?

                I'm missing your point here.

You currently have all the fields and yet you still are not getting the job done?

So with all the turf fields currently under your control no one is coming to your tournaments and the best girl players are leaving for WA

Why hasn't THPRD fired you guys and try some club who CAN make it happen?

                Apparently stagnation has set in!

We used to send our kids there. Biggest waste of time and money we ever experienced. Disorganized, terrible coaches and snotty people. We went to BSU and love it. So much of a better experience. And our kids have greatly improved. Aloha didn't team them anything.

The blame is squarely on Chuck and those that backed OPL originally. That needs to be fixed then soccer can move forward. The rest is just noise.

So how do we fix it?

In a perfect world Scott would be the DOC for the merged clubs of THUSC, FC PDX and BSC. TA would be the technical director for the girls and the PDX DOC would run the boys program. Scott would be able to ride West Metro soccer of the me first attitude and actually focus on the development aspect of youth soccer. How refreshing would that be?

Of course it will never happen because there are too many ego's involved and the Boards of FC & THUSC don't have either the wisdom or the guts to make this obvious move.

While we are on the subject, Scott is more qualified to be the Timbers head coach than GW!

Had OYSA not been a complete cluster fk, the OPL would have never been created. The OPL was back at the table this year. OYSA is the same incompetent mess. Don't blame the OPC for OYSAs failures.

You don't even know who the boys director is at FC. I bet you don't know who runs the girls side there either. So what makes you think you have any idea about what you're barfing on this blog?

I hope you are better with sharp knives than you are getting the point of a post. Da point
was that Scott would be a great person to head up a combined club. TA has demonstrated experience with the girls and FC has a demonstrated track record on the boys side so who cares what their name is...serioulsy this is not an English test its a blog to share ideas so I guess your only positive contribution is to be the gotcha editor...sheesh!
