Board members of other clubs are not paid. They also put in thousands of hours keeping their respective clubs running. Additionally, you don't start writing paychecks after the fact once someone becomes mayor. That reaks of corruption and at a minimum poor ethical governance.

Obviously you have not been involved with the club or around city government for any legitimate amount of time, or else you would have known about the legitimate work he performed. You also would not know about the years and likely thousands of volunteer hours he has given to youth programs, including THUSC, Westside Metros, Westside Warriors, softball, baseball, and so on.
Beaverton City government is no different from other local governments in that council members often hold other jobs/own businesses. Mayor Doyle has a solid and fully disclosed background, including owning his own business, and other employment. Many of us have also known him through many, many years of Rotary membership, business transactions, and volunteer work. He is honest and legitimate. Yes. I know his work for Westside, as well as other youth organizations.
However, a gossip forum is not the place to make misguided assumptions and try to ruin the reputation of good people, good youth programs, and families.
Blah Blah Blah..........
The question you are not answering is: Did DD work 25 hours per week for 2009 for WST and 40 hours per week for the City of Beaverton?
People go to jail for lying on their tax returns.

The police chief's wife driving around town while the people who work for her husband enforce her obeyance of the traffice laws is a conflict of interest. We should hire a separate police force to monitor her.

Politics
In some people's view The Mayor of Beaverton may of had a lapse of judgement choosing to take a salary from Westside Metros while being a full time city Mayor. It's over and it's on the record forever.
Guess what it's not an issue as he hasn't been asked to repay the monies, or asked to resign as Mayor.
Not having the same view or set of beliefs as a Mayor(publicly elected official) is the essence of American Politics.
Playing Politics is simply that.

It would be pretty ridiculous to come on a thread devoted to tualatin hills sports fields and start talking about all the "dozens of other conflicts of interest involving elected and public officials"
Selecting to talk about something relevant to the discussion is not hypocrisy, but thank you for acknowledging the hypocrisy of DD and WST, I guess we do agree on something...

And it also begs the question - why haven't you found a solution for your field issue as you have been around for a long time? Where to you practice now? I have to say, your club website should be sued for misrepresentation. You claim to be a premier club and that you develop these great players. However we go to a number of tournaments and I have never seen an Aloha team. We've played in PDP league at the top level and I've never seen an Aloha team. Maybe I'm just missing the tournaments where these great players play. Please list them so I can verify your claims.

Dumb move
Paul Blackmore, in what has to be one of the dumbest moves ever, has told the parents of Aloha to sue the club. By sending out a letter and posting it on their website that says the club didn't protect the information of the players and parents in the club, that the club now has huge liability. Some young poor attorney can get a group of parents together for a class action law suit. It was really stupid to send out a letter to all of your parents telling them that someone was able to get in and steal the clubs personal information which contains information that "could potentially endanger our children".
So you have actually indicted your own club and given an attorney all of the information tha they need to sue the club for not providing adequate protection of personal information that you have concluded "coule potentially endanger our children." Hey, you said it yourself. You failed to protect the information and the information is potentially harmful. I sure hope that Tonkin Torp got a big retainer from Aloha since they could be defending a lot of lawsuits from parents. Not a smart move on your part there Paul.

1) On this soccer forum I am just interested in how a private club claims domain over a public facility.
Have you contacted KATU regarding these issues?
2) I have not contacted KATU about any issues, you have me confused for someone else
Or are you just a one issue citizen?
3) I am not campaigning for anything, i merely saw a discussion in process, and offered my perspective
And it also begs the question - why haven't you found a solution for your field issue as you have been around for a long time?
4) My field issue?
Where to you practice now?
5)How is that relevant?
I have to say, your club website should be sued for misrepresentation.
6)There you go again assuming you know which club I am from...BTW if you haven't figured it out yet, you are wrong.
You claim to be a premier club and that you develop these great players.
7) see 5 above
However we go to a number of tournaments and I have never seen an Aloha team.
8) see 5 above
We've played in PDP league at the top level and I've never seen an Aloha team. 9)Congratulations on playing in PDP league, as stated above I have no affiliation to Aloha. It is time to consider that a broader audience then just Aloha WST is aware of this conversation.
