Originally posted by Unregistered View PostFor those interested in the Gothia Cup, which is currently going on as we speak, Crossfire, who won their way over there from Nike, won their first game 8-0. There are a handful of other US teams, who are having mixed results (some winning 2 or 3 to nothing, others losing by similar margins). Most of the brackets have 3 Swedish teams and one foreign team in it. 27 brackets, 110 teams total at U-15. There are brackets as young as U11 for boys, U12 for girls. Some adventerous US teams at those age brackets are there (going to Sweden at 12 to play in a soccer tournament - you make the call but I would want at least a four game minimum ; - ) ).
I didn't count, but I would guess there are as many as 700+ teams in that tournament across the age groups. Maybe more. The brackets are huge for the largest age groups. I can only imagine the logistics of all of it.

Cony has won 2 state titles with this team and think he will be the coach. Good team and good coach I don't see anything wrong with that combination. If Chris is the coach please advise where it is listed on the web site. Either way this team is the team to beat and not many Oregon teams can compete with them. They are only going to get stronger.

OSSA parent
I think we will see tons of movement in this age group this year. More than we have ever seen before.
I see FCPDX will have the start of the normal FC high school success they always have. Does anyone remember this team at U11?
I am going to say OSSA and THUSC are going to come in a strong second for gains. OSSA has tons of potential and if you haven't looked there you should
Rage/Usonians Boy who knows, the metros web site seems to indicate a combined team, but no coach.
Valencia. I am not sure they will be able to keep up with the population concentration on the other side of the river. But we will see

(please note, I never said that this is or will be the best team, simply that it will be better than before. I fully believe that OSSA and FC PDX will also improve)

OSSA has tons of potential and if you haven't looked there you should - I'm told SSC holds the toughest training sessions with high summer numbers and they work work work. With GS leading FCPDX not convinced THUSC will pull new players.
Rage/Usonians Boy who knows, the metros web site seems to indicate a combined team, but no coach. - don't know how this will work out with the Usonians having to go to Tualatin. Why Rage the new kid should make the move their way
