All teams that Onyx played were 98/99's (same age as us). I am glad that we played in a tourney that had the #1,3,4 and 5 teams from CA. Onyx against DeAnza was the beat U13 soccer game that I watched. I can assure you that we would not have experienced that competition in Seattle.

Looking at the gotsoccer and topdrawer rankings would you say DeAnza is worthy of their ranking after playing them? I know rankings don't mean much at this age, but deanza has been a top team at this age. 3-2 is a great result!! Congrats on a great tournament.

DeAnza is a great team. They are the most technical team we have seen. They are very strong and fast at every position. I also believe the most disciplined team we have faced. They spread the field and stay spread the whole game. They wait for a crack in the defense and then one touch until they score. Great soccer fun to watch and wish we could play them all the time. Good job Onyx!!

Some u13 teams go by the 99 year, such as the Texas teams, and some by 98. I know sounds confusing and should be uniform across the country, but it is not.

They really do think they are something extra special don't they? If they knew a little more about rankings they would hold on so tight to GotSoccer.

Gotsoccer rankings mean just about nothing. This is a very good example of that. Most of Sherwood's points have come from two events- last years Nike cup and this years OYSA State cup. Onyx has done almost no Gotsoccer events hence very few points.

It's been almost 3 yrs since onyx lost in oregon, but fc.is the only team to tie them. Sorry sherwood!
