Unlike youth basket ball where you can win at the highest levels with only five great players and three average subs it takes 8 or 9 great soccer players plus 5 more solid players to compete at the highest level in multi-game tourneys.

It's a fools errand to expect the thin squads Oregon clubs sends to the big tourneys to compete in the A bracket and or even win.

I don't agree completely. Onyx took 2nd in the Arsenal Summer Classic - the loss in that tournament took 2 OTs. Onyx only loss at Surf (Premier) bracket was to the Surf Cup champs - they lost 3-2. So I think with the right coaching and motivated girls Oregon teams can compete in the big tourney's - Onyx is proof.

Yeah Proof that you have to wait around for a 4-5 year cycle to get anything from Oregon Girls that resembles quality outside of Oregon. Not debating Onyx's success but that is a team who consolidated talent early including kids from SALEM.

Oregon girls soccer besides that is a joke outside of Oregon.

I believe 11 of the 17 have been there since U11 and 9 of those 11 went through the U10 program at THUSC. That's a pretty good core group of players. Of course they picked up players along the way. Every successful team will. They'll pick up a few more this year I'm sure.
