Seems a little odd, but you have to face the best team sometime.

Rats. I was happy that you seemed to have gone away for awhile.

Please let us know who you are so we will all know who thinks they are the smartest of all the posters.

Otherwise, do us all a favor. Go away and really reflect on why you are so miserable and leave the rest of us alone.

Actually at U14 and below the seeding is basesd on fall results. At U15 and above the seeding is first based on last year's semi-finalists and then based on Winter results secondly. This is because at some age groups teams play up and not in their age group during winter league so league standings can't accurately be the first criteria. This was all explained to us by our DOC at the beginning of the year. Your DOC knew about it. Go ask him.

It is interesting how much you can tell about the strength (validity) of someones comment on this board by their language.

This thread is a great example. Someone raises a question about an observation they have had, in a fairly straight-forward way. Apparently this raised the hackles of others who came on here and showed their opposition, but had no answer. Their response in a nutshell being "That's the way it is, you idiot".

It is clear the stronger the language the less of a point/answer/explanation the person has.

Nearly this whole second page is an example of being as insulting as you can without saying anything.

I have seen several examples of this (two FC teams in the same group, two Eastside teams in the same group), and it raises the question of integrity of the results. It would have been so simple to separate these teams.

Do the gurus at OPL truly not understand this? It raises more quests than it answers.
The answer is that FC Portland are so obnoxious, that they put their B teams in state cup, when really, it is a waste of money for the B teams. It is to serve the ego of their DOC. FC's selling point will be, "Look how many girls teams we put in state cup." They don't give a hoot about the players. The B teams should have entered the HS directors cup, and probably had a few winners.

That's probably a correct assumption. I know a lot of parents use the timer feature on their phone for keeping track of the game time. The iPhone has a nice timer built in. I suppose other phones do too, just not as familiar with other phones.

Why would I go ask my DOC and get the reputation that you already have when I have smart people like you to do the work for me. Brilliant response... this really clears up why a B team with worse results is seeded higher than an A team from the same club with better results. Thanks for great work. In fact, teams playing up have always been seeded highest in the past. Go ask your DOC.

I'm not crying, just agreeing with the original poster about the brackets being screwed up. I don't care who plays who; the best team will win in the end. I don't even have a kid in the age group. Just makes for a better final when the two best teams are likely to meet up instead of eliminating one in the semis. Or maybe I need to run to the DOC to see if my opinion is correct. Better yet, why don't you tell me?

Help me to understand this post. First you say "the best team will win in the end" then you talk about one being eliminated in the semi's. If they're the best and will win in the end, how will they get eliminated in the semi's??

You're too busy trying to win the argument to read what the poster wrote. The post was it's better to have the best teams play in the final, instead of one being eliminated in the semis. That means the best team beats the second best team in the final, not the semi final, not that the best team lost.
