    Help me understand...

What is going on with the OPL state cup groups? In all my experience of soccer when you have multiple teams from a club in an age bracket, you put them on opposite sides of the bracket, at least for group play.

I have seen several examples of this (two FC teams in the same group, two Eastside teams in the same group), and it raises the question of integrity of the results. It would have been so simple to separate these teams.

Do the gurus at OPL truly not understand this? It raises more quests than it answers.

Because this is not the standard tournament. Teams are put in brackets based on fall results. Example, 4 brackets. Top team is in bracket A, 2nd best in bracket B, 3rd best in C, and 4th best in D. Next is 5th best in D, 6th best in C, 7th best in B and 8th best in A. Then it goes 9th best in A, 10th best in B, 11th in C, and 12th in D.

There are no exceptions to this even if from the same club. It's all based on results.

Which is the correct and only way to do it.

Why are coaches on their cell phones during state cup games?

Because they are getting scouting report on who to recruit in 3 weeks!

          Or

Because they are negotiating some huge shoe contract

It's the freakin weekend, very few of us need or phones for the few hours of a game!

Of course, why would we use our brains on anything?...

So it doesn't raise any eyebrows when we see a four team group, and two of those teams are from the same club?

Just keep buying and eating what they are selling you...never mind the stench...

If the groups are based on the results from the fall then that is just how it falls. How can you just move one team to another group? Who would they switch with? Would that be fair to the other teams in the group if the new team was a tougher team and changed the whole dynamic of the group? The answer is no, there would be no fair way to do that.

                  other group observations

I've also seen it where a club's B team has been given a higher (better) seed than its A team even though the A team played in a higher division. Just so happens that this is the club who employs AH who I believe is in charge of the groupings although I could be wrong. Perhaps manipulating the match ups for the knock out phase? Hmmmm...

Point given but when all said and done won't the top teams move on and none of this will matter? I think so. If it is a benefit to have more teams at one age group why don't more clubs do it? Because they can't and it doesn't make much of a difference when all said and done.

Sorry you are so stupid that you need help understanding something so basic, my grade schooler has no problem comprehending. The seeding methodology is clearly stated on the OPL website. OPL finally got what OYSA never did. Now fall season actually means something you dip****.

Just look at the fall results you idiot. They are posted on the grassy knoll. No big conspiracy here. Just dumb idiots still sore that they hitched their wagon to that tired, dying old horse, OYSA

16 boys... OSSA Black is 3rd seed & OSSA Green is 4th seed. Black has never finished ahead of Green let alone play in the same league.

Selling what? The correct way to seed a bracket and tournament? Is is the right way.

I'm sure leaving it up to a think tank like this would make more sense. OPL is correct. Enough.
