    Get off your high horse

One team got it done, the other had a nice run. Get over it.

Agreed. Sounds like your team (THUSC) should explain their brutal style of play. You hurt your own player and pulled an opposing player down by the jersey at the end of the game. I noticed the other team acknowledged the fallen player better than your team when taken off. No style, no class. If boot ball is what they do, your defenders are not talented because they broke you down several times, did not see the other team give up a clear shot.

What are you talking about? Two players colide, one gets seriously hurt. And you are trying to point fingers and assign blame? That's laughable. If you can't handle "big girl" soccer, go back to rec. Have you ever watched a U18 game? These girls play like princesses in comparison. And who are you to talk about 'no style, no class'? You didn't notice the Sodium girls kneeling down in prayer, twice, over their fallen teammate? You were probably one of the OSSA mom's yelling "Way to go girls! woo woo" as the Sodium player lay on the turf with the paramedics attending to her. I was standing right to theses mom's so I have first hand knowledge. Pulling a jersey, really? You have nothing more to base an argument on? You are an embarrassment to your club.

I was going to come on here and praise the OSSA team and their victory, but now, forget it.

Anyone can come on here, you assume they are OSSA, you of all complainers about not assuming comments from a specific team. Seriously, are saying the parent comment had anything to do with the injury, that seems like a reach. You/ the coach/team/club is an embarrassment. I am sure they will miss your praise, one comment shouldn't ruin it for the whole buttttt you have done that for your team for years.

Both teams can play more attractive soccer but in going for a win you do what you can to get it done.
I've seen both teams play much better soccer no doubt, but OSSA got it done on this day. I am sure these two teams will go back and forth for awhile longer. Fact is, Sodium came out very flat and OSSA applied pressure from the opening whistle creating 2 quick set plays. That is typically how these two teams score on each other. Fact is Sodium did not show up in championship form and that is too bad. You have to be ready for immediate pressure in a championship. You should expect the other team to come out swinging and Sodium did not. Once down 2 goals Sodium never found their form and relaxed. OSSA went into more of a defensive mode as they should have and started sending the ball up to their faster forwards. Boot ball is the perfect tactic in this scenario. You see it in the pros all the time. It's good tactical soccer. Get over it. I suspect Sodium will be looking forward to revenge, so I expect a solid game the next time these two teams meet.

Any info on these two teams playing head to head the last year or two?

Wow! You are a complete loser and probably the same poster he was responding too. Get over yourself. He isn't making excuses and you shouldn't gloat. These teams will meet again. How can you call the team, club, coach an embarrassment? That's just dumb.

Having watched lots of thusc and ossa teams over the years I've always thought of thusc as the boot ball club. Not associated with either club but it always seemed that way.

When did I say the parent comment had anything to do with the injury? The original poster was talking about our team having no style or class and I was posting an example of the pot calling the kettle black. And why would you say "You/coach/team/club is an embarrassment"?(nice sentence structure) We won a Surf Cup event, a Vegas showcase event and were playing in the OPL State Cup finals, what basis do you have for that comment? And if you would like to meet up and discuss all I have done for my team/club I am more than willing to meet and go over all the fundraising, securing donations, my own volunteering and money I have willingly put forth for this team/club for the past 9 years. But of course that will never happen because you don't even have the guts enough to register so anyone knows who you are, let alone be seen in public. Have a great Sunday.

Well now we are actually getting a real discussion of the tactic's employed during the game.

You are saying that the OSSA used boot ball in a strategic manner and I agreed that in that situation it would be appropriate. However I have yet to see any OSSA supporter come on here and say "oh no we are a possession oriented team" and or "our coaches emphasize possession soccer over kick and chase".

After watching many years of LOSC and now OSSA games I do not recall ever seeing that style on the field and more importantly being called for from the bench.

Again the Blues need to be congratulated on their victory but please OSSA parents do not come on this board and trash any other team for boot ball when that is your clubs modus operandi!

I have never heard that OSSA plays boot ball before on here. I have never seen them play strictly boot ball, which a lot of teams that are good will do from time to time in a game. If there are forwards that can handle the pass and backfield that can get it to them, I do not see it being that big of a deal. I would say that the comment is just to stir the pot.

Now I have heard about the Finals being sloppy but that was last year after another win over THUSC. Clearly OSSA is the top team at this age based on performance in the last four years in State.

I remember last year reading THUSC was the best club because of their dominance in State Cup. Guess they can't say they are the top club anymore, sore losing is the specialty they have now. Good luck in your recruiting. FC Portland is the top club.

I was right there with you until the sentence before last. Why, after a post, would you lower yourself like that?

Since State Cup is now a memory, who, at this age group, is playing in the Showcase of Champions in Seattle next weekend?

The teams have played each other 8 times in the past 2 years. Four wins for THUSC, four wins for OSSA. 3 State Titles now for each.

Anyone who is involved at this age group knows that this game is never pretty soccer. It is frantic, it is very physical and it is nonstop. There are regularly players hurt, tempers are close to the surface, and either team can win on any given day.Yesterday was OSSA's day.

OSSA got two early goals and hung on for the win despite relentless pressure from THUSC. THUSC had several very good chances that just didn't find their way into the back of the net on Saturday.

The name calling from the "parents' on here is embarassing. Good job yesterday THUSC and OSSA!
