Yeah... we would never go back to Clash. If your coach suggests it, ask him why he owes a WSA Board Member a favor.

Well there will definately be some of that as the Timbers Alliance will be supporting each others tournaments. This is assuming of course that the merger between VUSA and WSA is approved. That alone will bring some more teams to the Clash. Hopefully this will be leveraged with clubs from up North so the quality at all ages and genders is better for those that are complaining.

How is the merger going to bring in more teams? Both clubs had teams there last year and it wasn't competitive. Neither club has the greatest teams. I think you're putting way too much into this alliance thing. WSM will support WSM and that's about it. They could care less what happens to ESUFC and VUSA. While they are all affliated with the Timbers they are still their own seperate clubs. Each club will probably try to out do the other clubs.

I think you mean WSA. Assuming the merge goes through (and that's what it looks like will happen), for this year, they will remain separate but will really try to be good neighbors with each other. That's what I think. I dont' think that "they could care less about...VUSA" (and you mean "couldn't") is accurate.

No I think they meant WSM. It sounds like they were referring to the part where it said the Alliance teams will support each other. I agree that the Alliance clubs will only look out for themselves.

The merger between VUSA and WSA won't be anymore competition to the Clash at the Border so it will stay a second rate tournament.

The Alliance will support their partners. Regardless of what your opinion is they've more-or-less been told this will happen.
Thus, the Clash will have a full compliment of ESUFC, WSM & Vancouver Timbers (VUSA & WSA) teams. This will up the ante in and of itself and hopefully draw more teams from other areas. Sorry you had a bad experience last year. You may want to reconsider for this year. If not, enjoy whatever tournaments your team chooses.

I'm sure we'll opt out because just playing OPL teams is not fun. I thought the point of doing an out of state tournament was to face better competition, not the same.
