So what your saying is to take the advice and speculations of all the idiots here that NO knowledge or even first hand rumors, rather then attempting to form your own opinion from information that you YOU receive directly from those that actually run and manage the program ?

Im assuming your one of those with a BIG cup and straw by your side at all times, just sipping away at all the poison you read here. It festers inside night and day and because you "read it online" it has to be the truth and by God Im gonna type it as if it's the gospal (written in stone).

Look !!! If you dont like what you hear from either Chuck or Erik, leave the program. Better yet, make sure your child first can actually participate (good enough to be considered)

Typically its those that cannot have something that complain the most and hardest. They feel wronged, so any and every opportunity they get, they have to tell the whole world how rotten that thing is and why everyone should not have it either.

They have offered almost all of competitive soccer. For doing nothing they want a percentage of the fees. That is the only part of competitive soccer CK wants: $$$$.

The other poster is right. It is the upper management that needs to go. How does CK keep his job. He is not a soccer guy and has absolutely no vision or ideas for how to make soccer better in this state. He is clearly not a business guy because his "product" has been devastated and his endowment fund run dry. Now for the next poster who is going to come on and blame the OPL for CK and OYSA's failures, think about this in a business sense. Did the board of GM blame Mercedes and Honda for their failures? No. The CEO was let go and a new leader was put in place. So if CK is not a soccer guy or a "successful" business guy how in the name of Oregon soccer does he still keep his job?

Coming from "Soccer Dad #1" who knows absolutely nothing of either organizations management needs and requirements, your statements make all the sense in the world ----> NOT

This post makes no sense. You don't really need to know much about soccer to see a complete leadership fail within OYSA. You didn't need to be an NBA player or coach to see McMillan had lost the team. They changed the coach. Further, how do you know the poster doesn't know tons about soccer and soccer management. Your post certainly appears to come from the perspective that you know a lot about soccer management. What's your proposed solution? Surely it's not more of the same.

Im not against a change in leadership at OYSA, but the same could be said for the OPL. If their [OPL] agenda is total destruction of their opposition, then wouldnt you just be dooming CK's replacement ? How is this good for our soccer state ?

What I'm saying for those of you intellectually challenged, is simply post information of the OYSA website so that everyone gets the same, complete and correct, information. No need for 300 calls to Chuck or Erik, just written and truthful complete disclosure. Why is this so hard for you to understand? P.S.: My player is doing just fine, since you brought it up, maybe your's is not.

Often times soccer parents and players are trying to determine their future course of action regarding their playing competitive soccer in Oregon. Full information disclosure is a good thing. Having to call someone to find out what's going on is rather silly. Simply publish what the current state of affairs may be. It would also be nice to know why there wasn't a quorum for the March OYSA meeting. Isn't there anything important they may want to discuss and act upon? It would seem so. In any event, both OYSA and OPL are not helping advance the players in Oregon to the degree that it could be done. The first casuality is this self-caused war is truth.

Where is all of the hate for the troglodyte's at the OPC who can't get their minutes on line. If the OYSA was "hiding" the ball they would be trashed over and over again by the haters!

                      How about some consistency.

OBTW how many meetings of the OPC in the past 12 months lacked a quorum? No I/m not an OYSA employee or even supporter just a guy who wishes both sides and their supports would GROW UP and do what is right for the kids and not their individual EGOS!

You see this is EXACTLY the attitude that got us to where we are today. One side thinks they own competitive soccer while the other side just wants to administer it under national guidelines.

OPL you are hurting competitive soccer outside the metro area and even clubs inside the region are not benefiting and or growing thanks to your stellar leadership and transparency!

Maybe the reference should be to why it is necessary to call John or Angela. If you go on OYSA's website (I believe it is http://www.oregonyouthsoccer.org/about/oysa.aspx) you can find all board minutes, annual meeting records etc... Any time anyone asks for comparable information from OPL the response is to call their office or go through your DOC. It amuses me when the claim is made that OYSA is somehow less than transparent or following an ulterior motive. It seems they have gone over and above as far as sharing information.

It seems like the real issue is the OPL folks who over and over tell themselves "we can't trust OYSA...they are trying to pull something...they are out to get us". My understanding is OPL is the only organization that has expressed a desire to destroy the other.

                            OPL Folks

The opl clubs had a choice and they pick opl SO WHAT. OYSA has 60 team playing rec that is great. Everyone will be fine if they just focus on the soccer they offer.

For league play, I couldn't agree with you more. However when we start talking about a state championship, ideally you want to involve everyone. Instead what we have is needlessly divided by individuals protecting their egos and pocketbooks.

Why is it such a troubling concept that we would have two primary leagues OYSA, and OPL and they would have all their teams meet at the end of the year in the USYS national tournament tied state cup?

If the OYSA teams end up being cannon fodder for the OPL teams, how does that hurt the OPL teams? On the positive side it allows the winners to be undisputed State Champions.

Greed and Egos are the only answers I can come up with...

                                state cup

not a hard concept, we have two state cups in Oregon, pretty much the same accross the country now. Why wouldn't a team want to do US youth soccer, like US club it has been water downed by the DA and ENCL it is just the way it is these days.
