    Objectivity needed

Sadly the haters can't handle a little honest evaluation from the CUSTOMERS!

You do not have to be a soccer insider to evaluate the product on the questions asked. These questions were the basis upon which OPL formed their rationale for leaving OYSA/ So I have to chuckle (no pun intended) when those who think ONLY their opinion should matter or be taken seriously so strenuously complain about a little objective feedback.

I wonder how they deal with performance reviews at their work?

D/F - arbitrary schedule changes have been made, as well as being forced to forfeit a game because of OPL administrative errors

OPL games were the first league games where the standard was 2 refs, and I felt lucky to have 3

N/A it is unfair to blame a league for performance of officials. There are horror stories on both sides, so no grade

F - OPL has had zero transparency, it is a black box, where the expectation is what OPC says goes. For an organization that is coordinating so many different clubs, it is my expectation that we be able to understand the how's and whys. Not just live under directives

F - what does this even mean? They don't discipline OPC clubs, there don't seem to any checks and balances.

          D - the only
Area OPL can claim is NWCL. Honestly this could exist without OPL. As far as league competition, we are playing the same teams (minus a few) as we played before.

N/A. ECNL doesn't exist in Portland, DA is coming. ID camps really serve a very small sub population

F - rational conversations are being sidelined due to OPC's inability to see past their own Egos. By all previous communications the rift was working itself closed, until OPC decided to blow the whole thing up. Then they try to point all the blame away from themselves.

Wonder if the OPC has the courage to send this out?

If the OPC was a professional organization they would send a variation of this out to their member clubs and parents to get some feedback from their customers!

Of course they don't. But I don't think it is an issue of courage. It is an issue of arrogance. You hear comments over and over about how parents are just obstacles, and they need to be told what to do by the wise DOCs who know and
Understand all. This is why OPC/L gets so upset when anyone dares to tell them what to do.

We as parents may see ourselves as
Customers, but OPC merely sees us as cattle to be herded.

I was thinking we are treated more like milk cows who are brought in from the fields for our monthly bilking of dollars.

That's too bad that is the experience you are having at your club with your DOC. You didn't state your club, so I question the legitimacy of your post, but if that is the way you feel, then why not switch clubs? Why would you put up with that? I don't understand it at all when folks come on this forum and post as if they are shackled to a wall. I have never felt like cattle with our club. I have had quite the opposite experience. Our DOC has always sought out parent input, as he understands that parents know their children best. I want this to be a legitimate post, so I will tell you that my child plays for THUSC Onyx. If your not happy, then come on over for a practice. Our club holds open practices this time of year. Best wishes to you whatever organization your team is playing state cup with.

I can see how someone would feel that way when their DOC caters to their side of the club.

You misread, or intentionally are twisting my comments. My issue is not with my club, my experience with my club DOC is they tend to be pretty levelheaded when discussing club issues. The issue is at the OPC level. We are tied to them, and they seem to have no interest in what their customers see as important.

It is not relevant which club I am from. It doesn't make you any more legitimate to share your club than it does for me to not share mine.

The OPC (not individual clubs) makes policy for all of competitive soccer. Their failure to accept input, feedback, etc... is unacceptable.
