Maybe these teams should go ahead and sign up for OPL State Cup as well. With only a couple of teams in each group (only 1 in some), they should be able to play in this tournament (one, two or no games) and OPL State Cup as well even though they are on the same weekend.

For those of you late to the game, many of the teams are doing it because of the challenge of the next level. Let the flaming begin, but that is a perfectly valid reason. PHX will be a great trip for the winners. If you are OPL, it has absolutely no bearing on what you are doing so let it go.

Just a question, how do you even get games with only 1 team in the cup, or even 3. Maybe my team would consider OYSA if we knew how such small brackets will be delt with.

I believe last year brackets with 2 teams played 1 game (championship)

..and again we are back to the OYSA supporter, blinded by his/her own inferiority, resorting to name calling. Thank you for yet another clear example of what you get from OYSA...bullying and nonsense. I will be so glad when OYSA finally leaves the OPL alone and sticks to Rec Soccer in this state. Then maybe the angry OYSA supporters can start their own talking rec soccer forum.

As a OYSA particpant (FWRL) individuals from our team are not angry at all. Nor are we a rec team. Both organizations have strengths and both organizations have weaknesses. I do have to wonder if the OPL is successful in pushing OYSA out of business if they have an immediate plan to manage recreation soccer around the state. I also have to wonder if OPL is successful in pushing OYSA out of business if they will then move to the USYSA route so that the teams actually have a higher purpose. Either way, by that time my child will be playing D1 soccer so we won't have any dog in the fight.
